We had an excellent 6 day stay. The Akumal property is wonderfully maintained and clean, and the staff were universally helpful and friendly. The Riviera buffet is excellent, with a wide variety of foods to suit most any taste. There are very good al a carte restaurants at Akumal and their neighbor B-P properties. The biggest issue for us was that smoking was permitted anywhere outside, which meant having to move a few times due to nearby smoke.

I was very pleased to see recycling happening. Food and beverage were very good. The app needs to be improved and it should match the actual hours/activities happening at the resort. This was not the case and little frustrating.

We liked the beach, pool and staff. Kids club was amazing. Ellie, Marisol and the guy (forgot his name) were amazing. My kids loved them and the activities they did. Kids night schow was great. They were great! Armin in the Buffett for breakfast and lunch was awesome as well. He really did a great job every single day. The chef in the kitchen was great because we had a gluten allergy child in our group. We didn’t like that we had to ask 3 times for the shampoo and conditioner in the room and that we got no response from calling front desk. We also didn’t like the hibachi restaurant , they could not seat us all together even though we had a reservation, the host and Manager were rude. Also the rooms could use an upgrade for the price you pay.

The resort is beautiful but could use an update as it is starting to look worn. The Seevice was good but not great. The specialty dining was some of the best I have experienced with lots of choices.

Great resort, hope to be back soon!! Be sure to get reliable transportation from/to airport, Amstar left us stranded with no ride to catch our flight despite us booking transportation way in advance.

I came into my room while it was being cleaned. The person left a dirt rag on my makeup bag. There wasn't much I was going to find right about the place after that. Big and very walkable. Lots of different restaurants. Public bathrooms not well maintained - broken doors, not flushing, like that. Adults Only section very limited. Physically the place is beautiful.

The property and common areas are beautiful. The rooms not so much. The rooms need updating. The linens are all stained and don't look fresh. The food was not good. Very bland. The first 2 nights we were in rooms that smelled very damp and musty. We requested a room switch and they moved us to a different building and rooms on the 3rd level. Rooms were less musty smelling.

Muy bueno es muy elegante, mi cuarto estaba espectacular la comida en los restaurantes de menú a la carta son muy buenos, todos. Tienen kids zone cuidan muy bien a los niños y hacen actividades con ellos la playa está muy bien para hacer snorkeling no mucho para nada. Lo único malo es…… que tocan mucha música de los 80’s por favor no mas 80’s !!
