"We loved our stay at the Hawthorne! We loved the convenient/free parking, the friendly staff, the clean room, the bed was comfortable. We loved having a bar/restaurant on the property. Our only complaint, although a big one, was the heat in the room. We understand it’s an old hotel so it’s difficult to update the heating and cooling system, but it was very, very hot in our room. We were able to get some relief by opening the window, but then it was noisy. "

You couldn’t adjust the temperature because they said “the air conditioning had not been turned in for the season”. We kept the heat on 65 degrees and it stayed well over 73. Also could use either a full shower door or a shower curtain. Location was great. "

"The front desk staff was great. But it was pretty gross when asking for different towels when the housekeeper was touching used towels with her bare hands. Also, there are kids and the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. I think it needs to be better managed of where to put kids where they are not gonna be adults."
