“no hair dryer”

“***DO NOT STAY HERE*** This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed. The room was disgusting like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks or longer, multiple broken things in the room, the smell of the room was PUTRID. My pregnant friend had to sleep in the vehicle because of the awful conditions, after she got stuck in the bathroom because the door got stuck. I called beforehand to let them know we would be checking in late with our ETA, it took over 10 minutes to wake up the person working the front……

“What a gem on the lake! Sona was a great host, we had excellent communication throughout the vacation. The cabin is clean and the descriptions on VRBO and by other reviewers is accurate. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend stay with friends or family without any worries, this is the spot.”

“host was nice. inside looks pretty updated besides the bathrooms but everything works. check in was easy. i caught me a little bass off the dock but water is pretty shallow. it's nice for a mobile home. i would stay here again. ”

“Communication was fine, as well as getting into the house. Few problems with the upkeep/cleaning. Kitchen window was disgusting with spiders a dirt all over it. Grass was about 1.5ft tall in the front yard. Dock needs some serious work as there are some boards that are ready to be replaced asap. Roof over boat lift is completely gone and has a tarp over it. For the money it isn’t bad, but it needs some attention. Cleaning and mowing should be the bare minimum for the owner given each renter is……

“Running out of paper towels was the worry thing that happened here 🤣 everything was perfect, the house is beautiful, the lake is gorgeous and Maggie is a gem. Sad to have to leave, can’t wait to visit again ”

“What an amazing stay! The house was super comfy and so cute. So quiet and peaceful. It was the perfect getaway from hustle and bustle. We swam in the lake both at the house and also at Gaston day area. Ate at Suka sushi and it was fantastic! The owner was extremely responsive and checked on us at arrival. The owner also recommended some antique store and I got some sweet finds. Definitely a stay again kind of place!”

“3 generations came together to celebrate Thanksgiving here, and we had a wonderful time! We cooked a turkey on the gas grill; the house was very well stocked for cooking and serving a big meal for 15. We brought a folding table for an extra 6 seats in the kitchen/dining room, which was a perfect fit (turns out the house has a folding table and 6 nice folding chairs!).We enjoyed the fire pit and appreciated it was well stocked with wood. The hot tub took until the second night to heat up, but……

“For the past 6 years, my family and I have rented a house on Lake Gaston just about every year for the week of 4th of July. We have yet to find a house that we leave thinking “let’s come back to this house next year”. Until now. Northern Cove Retreat is and has everything we could ever want or need. I have learned a lot from each different rental over the years, every year I add new things to my lake packing list for the next year and was sure this year would be my year for finally thinking of……

“The location was good for our family get-together. If you need dock space, you should coordinate with the owner, Tyler, to make sufficient room for your pontoon or power boat. There is very limited room on the outside of dock, as owner described as 9.5 x 2ft. We could not dock a rental pontoon boat or ski boat. We did not swim in dock area due to weeds, silt and algae.(Could not upload photo).”
