Blue Bay Resort

Great place, very big, and everyone is friendly. Food is good and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The only negative is the internet isn't really good in the rooms which is where you would probably use it the most.

Pros: The service was great
Cons: Conditions of the buildings needs some work
Location: Located about 20 min ride from the cancun airport and 10 min ride to town on there free bus that runs 3 or 4 times each day
A few problems with the resort like out dated furniture in the lobby and public spots. The week we were there the beach was washed away but that's just nature. We were very happy with the food and service at all of the restaurants. But the people working at the resort have been trained very well to please the guest I think it was the best service and staff we have had at any resort and this was our 31st all inclusive. Overall 4star with great service

Cons: Noise in the rooms, open a night club, a movie theater, FOOD after midnight for the people arriving from Playa del Carmen
Location: Go to Playa del Carmen, Xcaret, Xel-ha
You can clearly hear the person in the next room talking, laughing, screaming, etc. Also there aren't too much activities, only the pool, so you get bored pretty soon.

Staff very friendly, rooms reasonably nice, cleaners were in daily. Beach view wasn't as nice in this area. I also had a very bad experience with one of the excursion/ transportation staff when one of her colleagues put my departure date a day too late so when I went to get transportation to the airport I had to pay another 45USD on top of the previous to get me there. There was no accountability and they could have cared less if I was stranded.

Great Junior Suite with swim up pool!

We spent 7 days at the BBGE for our honeymoon! Overall, we loved it, we had a jr suite which included a private pool right outside of our back door (very nice since the big pools close at 19:00). Our suite included 2 bathrooms, a sitting area (w/ a love seat, TV, table w/ chairs & access to the pool), in the other room (which could be separated w/ sliding doors that didn't slide very easily) there was a king bed, closets, dresser, and another access door to the pool. The room was nice, the bed was very comfortable but the duvet they used only went up 3/4 of the mattress, I had to untuck it and scoot down in the bed every night to be covered up! The love seat in our room was well used, a little flat and lumpy, but we didn't use it all that often so it wasn't a bother. The pool facilities were beautiful and well kept, there were constantly workers in and around the pool keeping it's pH & chlorine levels in balance and it was swept every day. My only quam with the pool is that some of the tiles aren't grouted very well and I actually sliced my knee getting onto one of the sitting platforms. If you are looking to visit the resort, bring plenty of sun screen or else you'll end up paying $25 at the shops!!! The beach area basically stunk. It was, by far, the most disappointing part of their facilities. It's not entirely their fault because of erosion, but other resorts in the same stretch of beach were way better and less rocky! The staff is amazingly wonderful and kind!

Cons: Food choice - definitely was very poor
Location: It is very usual for Rivera Maya - diving, shopping, Cenotes (cave diving), parks and pyramids - everything that is offered by other hotels
The hotel is lacking service, room comfort and food choice of 4 star hotel, it is even rated as 5 start hotel on the hotel entrance. There was absolutely no choice for fruits and vegetables that you expect from Mexican hotels. There was no changes in the day-to-day menu, unless you choose to go to the a-la-carte restaurant in the evening. Since I stayed during rain ( 3 days) my room was flooded once, the cleaning staff did not even think of replacing wet comforter until they were told about it, they just hide it under the mattress. Very good staff in the diving shop Dive-X, well experienced and very attentive to the divers needs. I would definitely recommend them. The beach was clean, however if you expect any service on the beach - forget it. Get your drink or coffee yourself and the staff will definitely appear to collect your empty glass. At the same time bartenders are very respectful and will try to fulfill or your needs. The beach activity program I very good, however show in the evening ( made mostly by the same staff) really sucked. It was very different from the advertised one. On the positive note I can add that night bars are located well away from the rooms and the sounds from partying people did not disturb at all.

We had problems in the rooms no air, fans didn't work, sliding doors broken, maintenance had to keep coming to the rooms
