AMAZING resort, wonderful staffPosted Nov 25, 2013
Pros: The best thing about the Blue Diamond is the resort staff. They are by far the hardest working and friendliest people I have ever met
Cons: The Coatis are a little too friendly and come right up to your door- too scary for us! maybe encourage people not to feed them
Location: downtown Playa Del Carmen was charming but some of the shop owners are too annoying with their attempts to get us to shop in their store.
My mom and I had the best experience at the Blue Diamond. It is such a quiet and peaceful place, the perfect getaway if you just want to relax, lounge in the sun and eat delicious food. The wait staff is amazing, so attentive and FRIENDLY! We made instant friends with Cesar (Aquamarina for Breakfast and the beach during the day), Javier (pool bar), Frederico(Aquamarina/Cigar Bar), and Antonio (Ambar). We looked forward to seeing them each day as they treated us like royalty. We even received handmade floral headpieces the morning of our departure day from Cesar and Javier. It did not seem like many other guests were tipping these hardworking people but we made sure to take good care of them, as they took great care of us. Also, Omar from concierge was incredibly helpful and gracious. We had to change our room due to a ceiling leak from the massive amount of rain we had on our first day there. Omar upgraded our room and moved all our luggage in the pouring rain without a hitch! It was an honor to be a guest at the Blue Diamond, I wish our stay was longer!

Small luxury hotel on Riviera MayaPosted Oct 27, 2013
From the look of every other hotel on the Riviera Maya, Blue Diamond was by far the smartest and best-sized property. Secluded from the big sprawling resorts, a private beach and discreet accommodation set in beautifully maintained grounds, the staff attended to your every need with a smile and nothing was too much trouble.

Unique, relaxing resort with privacy in mindPosted Oct 21, 2013
We enjoyed our four day stay. Although Blue Diamond does not have the activities or offerings of McSandal type resorts, the food, architecture, and private rooms were far superior than other nearby places. I was a little disappointed that yoga was only offered twice during my stay, and the instructor lacked experience. In addition, we were led to believe that a free scuba dive was included. It was incredibly hard to schedule; it took us until our last day to get it scheduled. In addition, you are given one free tank, and pay $75 for the second. Lastly, the resort tries to squeeze every last dollar out of you, like overcharging for transportation to the airport or to the nearby town. Although I did love the style of the resort and the well thought out menus (breakfast was phenomenal), I thought little things could be improved to make it more endearing.

It's very comfort and quite pool villaPosted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: Very comfortable and staff is very friendly.
Cons: Water has a problem.
Location: Xcalet, Explore and xlaha is very close with this resort.
You can eat with a beautiful beach view also very close from xcalet and other activity area. But if you want to see the rear see and enjoy the night life, must go to hotel zone. Otherwise if you want to take a rest, Blue Diamond resort is wonderful!!

A True DiamondPosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: I loved the design of Blue Diamond- everything is white, crisp & clean with lots of glass-very zen! The meals & presentation were "spot-on" each time!
Location: no need to go anywhere- enjoy the hotel & beach for what it is!!!!!
This resort lives up to its name- a true (blue) diamond! Our experience was amazing: gorgeous hotel & grounds, top notch service, friendly & professional staff, incredible food & menus (believe me- not your typical all- inclusive), lovely beach (by far the prettiest in a 4 mile walk) Resort more beautiful than the website photos!!!!

Perfect relaxing pampered honeymoon!!!Posted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: It was peaceful and relaxing, clean, it had a private beach, the food was amazing! And the staff especially!
Location: Cancun is close...as well as the many tours that are offered.
Our experience here at the Blue Diamond hotel was amazing!! It was just the relaxing vacation that we needed. The room was beautiful...not to mention the bed was sooo comfortable!! The food was exquisite. The hotel staff were all so friendly, respectful, helpful, and polite. Especially Lucio, Floricel, and Roman... They totally pampered us ! Exactly what you want to happen on your honeymoon. Me and my husband are already making plans to return next year.

Our VacationPosted Aug 15, 2013
Pros: The staff is excellent. I have never seen a more caring and professional resort staff anywhere. Everyone makes you feel like family.
Cons: The bed made my back hurt a little, but it wasn't terrible. Also, the bicycles they provide aren't the best, but they get the job done.
Location: The beach is great. 5th Avenue is a 10-15 minute taxi ride away and many of the ruins are within 1.5-2.5 hours. There is snorkeling and scuba there.
The Blue Diamond is absolutely wonderful. My wife and I spent a week there and felt completely relaxed. This is the place to go if you want to just be lazy and lounge on the beach or beside the pool. You don't even have to leave your chair because the wait staff will come down to the beach or to you chair at the pool and wait on you all day. There are opportunities to do various activities from the resort, but this is more of a relax and do nothing type of place.

Perfect resort!Posted Aug 13, 2013
Pros: The beach, the pool, the dining, the staff. The weather in early August was delightful. I hope to return and will recommend to friends and family.
Cons: Nothing, it was 100% exactly what we wanted. Really a perfect week.
Location: We stayed on the grounds the entire week, except one evening we went into Playa del Carmen to buy some souvenirs and check out the town.
We had such a relaxing, wonderful week. The beach is beautiful. The rooms are huge and luxurious... amazing bathrooms! The grounds are lovely, lush and well cared for. Living in NYC we have high standards for food. I went to the resort with limited expectations, as long as there was guacamole and cerveza, I would be happy. We were blown away with the quality dining experience. The food was outstanding, extremely well prepared and presented, with an amazing variety. They take a great amount of pride with the dining and nail it every time. Not one meal was disappointing. I was amazed by the quality. The service was superb. Every staff member is making sure the guests are happy and have what they want. The staff is very professional, courteous, pleasant and fun. If you want a relaxing vacation where you feel pampered, this resort is for you!
