Good hotel with some issues

The good thing about this hotels that it is an all inclusive with excellent food. The employees, with few exceptions , are very friendly. The rooms are big and the swimming pool area is nice. The hotel is directly on the beach, a nice area, but the ocean is not that beautiful blue water that we saw elsewhere at Playa del Carmen e Cancun. Beach service is very good. There are some issues, that for me were important. The hotel does not have draft beer. Neither does it have any bottled beer, not even at the hotel bars or restaurants. Only beer in cans, and at the swimming pool, not even this is allowed, so the only option was warm beer in plastic glasses from these cans. For whoever likes beer, a nightmare. I also asked for white wine (bottle in ice) and only expensive bottles (not included) are allowed in the swimming pool area or in the rooms. For the price we paid for this hotel, we expected more . Overall, a nice hotel, with good food and good service, specially considering it to be an all inclusive.

Fantastic resort experience

Cons: Reservation of sun beds is annoying
Location: Great location lots of things to do nearby.
This is one of the best resorts we have ever stayed at, the overall experience is fantastic. Friendliness of staff and level of service is outstanding, the facilities and location is great. The quality of restaurants part of the 'all inclusive' package was top notch, to the point where we didn't go elsewhere for any meal. The only negative thing that also is easily fixed is that ever annoying tendency that people 'reserve' sun beds by the pools and then show up at noon time. The hotel has signs that this is not accepted but there is no enforcement of this by staff. I can warmly recommend the Grand Velas.

Location: El lugar está precioso me encantaron las camas de la playa. El servicio a playa es vip nos atendió Alfonso en varias ocasiones y súper buen servicio
Fui hace unos días del 12 al 17 de dic a festejar mi aniversario, la verdad el hotel está muy bonito, el servicio es muy bueno, la comida también es muy rica, el servicio a cuarto de lo mejor que e vivido te llevan hasta tu propia mesa redonda montada toda linda las bebidas también están muy bien, me gustaría que en el cuarto incluyeran pasta dental y crema para rasurar. Me gustaría que no te obligarán a firmar una tipo cuenta de lo que consumes donde a párate dice propina voluntaria, donde se supone que esta incluido ya. Los muchachos se esmeran tanto que a todos les dimos pero es incómodo. Al hotel le faltan muchas amenidades como canchas de tenis, golfito, billar etc Otra cosa con el cual no tuvimos problema pero no es grato es que después de entregar el cuarto a las 12 se supone que ya no tienes derecho al todo incluido ósea como porque...?.. Yo pague cada noche al mismo costo como porque el día de mi partida me quieren correr a las 12¿ Pero les comento nos dieron un pase algo así y pudimos seguir con los beneficios ya que mi vuelo salía súper noche Lo no tan bueno que les comento, es un comentario ya que no tuvimos ningún problema con nada todo se nos concedió. Mi restaurante favorita Frida después el senlin el piaf no me encantó pero el restaurante está bruto Otra cosa que no me gusto esque un día que fuimos a cenar a luca me dan una carta de vinos con cargo extra oses el costo de la botella el cual no lo pedí sólo quería los que incluía y nadie sabía que onda.

The level and quality of service was excellent. Great selection of restaurants. Most were excellent while some were just ok. But Piaf, Bistro, and Frida were a cut above.

Best First Impression in Mexico

Pros: The amenities, location and the quality of food. Cucina food experience is out of this world. Steak at the Bistro is outstanding.
Location: Ease to make dinner reservations.
This was our first ever experience in Mexico and we were blown away with the service level that seems to be the core culture at Grand Velas regardless of who you come across. Every single staff at Grand Velas make you feel like a royalty. You get treated with kids gloves every where you turn.
