“We booked a one-night experience for ourselves, our two sons and their respective wives at this highly rated facility as part of our vacation. We arrived early for our check-in, so one of three rooms was available which was fine. The rooms were large but had a musty smell when we entered. The bed was comfortable, but most of the amenities are dated. That said, this was meant to be a “lodge”, so our expectations may have been too high. “We visited the property for several days to celebrate our wedding anniversary after learning of them from their recent Travel + Leisure win. Admittedly we came with high expectations, as a #1 resort in the US win sets a very high bar indeed. While there were pleasant moments and we'd recommend the restaurant, the overall resort was disappointing. The overall facility was woefully understaffed.
