“I had a lovely stay at the River Inn. It is a beautiful property, well decorated with beautiful views of the Mississippi River and wonderful thoughtful amenities. This is now my go to hotel when in Memphis.”

“this was the absolute best place to stay in memphis! it’s exactly as shown in the photos, but somehow better? the room’s flourishes were so thoughtful. we were greeted by squirrels in the morning. the hosts were communicative & the whole process was smooth! we will definitely stay here again! oh & the shower.. the water pressure is perfect & the shower gel/hair products smell divine!”

“We stayed in the fly fishing cabin. 2 adults, 2 teens. Had to pay 32 dollars per night extra for a rollaway bed. No soap or shampoo dispenser in shower, so be sure to pack yours. No coffee or tea in lobby. The Walburgerz Wild is not a wild menu, waitstaff said go to Boston for venison burgers. The 2 night stay was ok, but the property boasts ‘world class accommodations’ I don’t feel that is what we got. If you are an outdoor enthusiast you will enjoy the decor, but in my opinion it was ‘just a……

“The room was quite nice: In the bathroom the toilet was jammed in between the sink and the wall so that it was difficult to sit down, and when I did my leg touched the metal of the stand that held the sink. We had an expensive dinner in the restaurant - not the French restaurant but the other one. The creamed spinach was limp spinach in a milky soupy something. We asked that the steak be charred on the outside, medium rare on the outside. It was neither and not very good. My dinner was……

“Clean room, easy check in and out, friendly staff, the valet workers were amazing and didn’t get enough credit for handling such a busy day and night while we stayed! ”

“Great location, staff was very helpful - one night we were locked out of the parking lot because they lock the gate at a certain hour. However, the valet attendant recognized our car and opened the gate, so we didn't have to go all the way around the building. This was wonderful because I just had foot surgery and really didn't plan to have to walk a long distance. ”

“We chose the property based on the photos showing an eclectic design. Our room has an original brick wall and the dual windows were original bay style. I don't typically sit in a lobby but there's was so inviting we did and visited with the staff. The bar/coffee was also fun to visit with the staff! Very friendly and inviting! It is a corner location and on the third floor there was NO traffic noise. And no sirens during the night.”

“The staff waited to inform us that there was no hot water after we checked in. They gave us a complimentary breakfast for our family but it was probably the worst breakfast we have had at a hotel. We had the thermostat set on 68 but it would not get any cooler than 72 degrees. The attempted to renovate but the overall effort was little to be desired with big patches in the ceiling and nasty caulking jobs. The valet parking was the only thing nice about this hotel. Look elsewhere.”
