Carmel Treehouse Rentals

"We had higher hopes for this hotel. The person who welcomed us was friendly. The bed was comfortable. We knew from reading other reviews that there is no elevator, but we were not prepared for the many stairs. The hotel needs repairs and renovations. The room was clean for an older hotel, but it could have been better. The roof is full of mold, which is ugly but also a health risk. There was junk piled up under the stairs. We went for our anniversary, and while we enjoyed Carmel, and always do, we did not enjoy our stay. If it can be renovated, it will be a great place. "

"Celebrated our son's birthday in Carmel. We liked the property location as it was away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. It was a good walk down to the beach and didn't have to worry about finding parking. Nice view from the upstairs room."

"Outstanding location in a very well run property. The entire staff is courteous and professional. Included Parking & breakfast were both excellent and our room was large and very comfortable."

"The hotel was conveniently located at the corner of the intersection and also next to a gas station, making it easy to find. However, it’s not walking distance to downtown Carmel. Parking was easy and plentiful, but it’s not free, and they don’t offer free continental breakfast. They charge $30 a day for parking, which is one of my biggest pet peeves. They also added extra hotel fees and parking tax at the end, in addition to the Hotels.com hotel fees. It’s clear they’re trying to squeeze every penny out of you. Checking in was fast and easy, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. My girlfriend and I decided to dine at the restaurant for dinner, but it was overpriced. However, the young guy who served us was very professional and attentive, and he deserves five stars for his service. They also had live music, which was a nice touch. The overall hotel was very clean and modern, but you can see some aging to the walls and the building itself. The rooms were very clean and spacious, and the balcony was nice. However, the sliding glass door was a pain to open, i kept having to slam it shut multiple times because i was able to get the locking pin aligned with some make-shift holes that were carelessly drilled. Overall, my girlfriend and I had an enjoyable stay, but it was way too overpriced, the hidden fees and paling fee were not very pleasant. Lastly, the beds were not very comfortable, especially for someone with a sensitive back. I could only sleep for about 6 hour"

"Easy parking, clean room and very close to downtown"

"the property grounds is beautiful, peaceful and well kempt. The rooms are nice as well, However, they are a little dated, especially in the bathrooms. Seems like a renovation is over-due and would greatly complement the rest of the property. I think it should be noted for any one who may have a tough time lifting bags or walking upstairs that the facilities does not appear to have elevators. at-least the didnt in the building i was in that looks directly over the pond."

"I stay here on every trip to Carmel/Monterey for three reasons: 1) Parking 2) Close to downtown 3) Reasonable rates The only negatives on this trip was no "Do not Disturb" placard available to use, and heavy footsteps above (maybe lack of sound insulation?)."
