“Very Basic”

“This property was absolutely beautiful! The staff greeted us with smiles and made us feel so welcomed. They drive you to your room and the two drivers we had was pleasant and funny. The rooms had everything you could need. We enjoyed the pool, bar and the cafe. Oh and the bartender made his own drink it was delicious! It's close to downtown, if you choose to walk the hill is no joke lol. We will be back for another visit for sure 😊 We recommend the ocean view room with balcony. The vibe in St.……

“Wonderful property with amazing views, cute rooms, pool and very friendly and helpful hosts. Walkable to the Ferry Terminal and 5 minutes in taxi to airport. Perfect for a long stay or just to add on the beginning and end of a BVI charter week”

“The hotel is known for its views which are wonderful. However, the room was clean, but television was hard to work, sink had no drain catch, and no surface areas in the bathroom to place items. Would have appreciated a coffee pot because no coffee available until 8 AM. ”

“Air conditioning is defective. Lost power twice. No hair blower, parking is not easy. Only the celiling cools me off. Can't use the tv because had to log in each time. Room per night is overprice and not a standard hotel.”

“Power went out often on the island, a generator is needed at this property. Out flight was cancelled and we lost a day. I was told we would get credit for that but haven’t received confirmation of that yet. Location is okay, taxi service is a few blocks away, restaurants close. Not sure if I’d return or recommend at this time, still waiting on owner to honor his verbal agreement. But no matter what, a generator is desperately needed to protect a quality experience. ”

“Overall loved the location and amenities. Staff was also great. Only issue in our room is it needs a bed/mattress replacement. I felt like I was laying on different levels of plywood. Caused some back discomfort. ”

My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! ”

“What a beautiful place to stay on St. John, a great location with outstanding views. The restaurant was wonderful, we had two outstanding dinners and enjoyed after dinner drinks at the bar each evening. Staff was outstanding, friendly and helpful! We are planning to return in 2027!”
