“Ocean was visible and it was pet friendly ”

“Sunset Gardens was nice enough and I would stay there again, but it was not 5 star accommodations. If you stay at a fancy resort I am guessing you will not experience the idiosyncrasies of island life. We stayed 2 nights and really only slept and showered. The rest of the time we were out exploring. We did have a rental car and never had an issue with parking but it is limited (8 spaces approximately) and I think we were told there were 17 rooms total. “The owner responded quickly to any questions which arose. Check-in and check-out were easy. The view from the balcony is wonderful. It is a very steep and windy road to the place. Glad we arrived during daylight. This was our first time to St. Thomas and we did not know how mountainous it is. If renting a car, make sure to get one that can make it up the mountains. “Starz is in a shady area to begin with, but the amenities are a joke. For starters, there is no place to park unless you park on a very steep/narrow hill which either blocks you or someone else in. We ended up parking on the sidewalk. There is no elevator, so regardless of what floor you are on, you will be dragging your luggage up stairs. “While the ocean was visible from the room and the room was pretty nice inside the hotel aesthetics are old and need to be updated. It looks like an abandoned hotel on the outside the check-in desk person is not always there although it looks like she lives on the property. The plumbing needs to be updated. I had to plunge the toilet. There was a plunger in the bathroom so they knew about the plumbing issues. I stayed on the bottom of the hotel and they were lots of noises upstairs and noises in……
