“This is an exceptionally unique property! This was our second stay at the retreat and our only negative comments are (1) we could only stay one short night, and (2) there were no fireflies!”

“It’s a lovely place. We didn’t use the upstairs, but that area felt like a tree fort - it would be fun for kids. Just one bathroom, but it’s spacious. The entryway and second living space are two inches higher than the rest of the house but it’s easy to get used to it. We were there for a family gathering and it was nice to e able to retreat to a quiet place in nature.”

“We stayed in the pocket city penthouse. It was quite spacious, with historic charm (gorgeous wood floors), and had a wonderful view of the Mississippi. This place and McGregor in general, are gems for anyone who appreciates history-- and especially those who enjoy a mix of natural beauty and preserved architecture.”

“Finally, a place listed as a secluded cabin that ACTUALLY IS a secluded cabin! It was everything we hoped for. Modern, comfortable, and relaxing. Sitting on the screened in porch, drinking coffee, and listening to the early morning rain was amazing. The main bathroom has a separate makeup mirror and great lighting. There's a county park nearby with hiking trails. And an old trestle bridge down the road; when the cars roll over the boards, it's like distant thunder. The host was easy to reach,……

“I did not stay at this facility. One look at it, and I left. It was totally unacceptable as there was absolutely NO WINDOW in the room. Within one hour of making the reservation, I requested a refund, but so far, I have received nothing but silence.”

“Family reunion with young adults with kids and grandparents. Very enjoyable stay. We enjoyed the lake (kayaking & fishing) as ell as the fire pit. The bedrooms were set up well for our group.”
