"I rarely write reviews, but after some bad hotel experiences, I really wanted to give kudos to this hotel! The check-in was probably the quickest and easiest check-in, I've ever experienced with a hotel. No matter what staff, I encountered they were all friendly. Parking was hassle free and accessible, which is not always the case when staying close to a downtown area. My kids loved the pool, hot tub and breakfast! Starbuck is across the parking lot as well, which is always nice and convenient. "

"I travel to Des Moines a lot. My usual place in the East Village was way overpriced this time (basketball) so I picked Des Luxe, a place I’d passed in the Downtown atea and noticed several times. I loved it. A working fireplace in the room! A piano in the lobby that they let me play. A small but very friendly bar off the lobby. Complimentary breakfast. A short walk to good restaurants/bars. I was sad not to stay in the East Village, but this place changed my mind, this is where I’m staying from now on."

"In town for the NCAA basketball tournament. This hotel has a rich tradition, and has been nicely refurbished. The restaurant/bar was very good. The staff was helpful. The location was convenient to both nightlife, restaurants, and to the Iowa Event Center through the Des Moines walkway system. We had a great stay, and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. "
