"Hotel was right across the train station so it was not a long walk at all. Very convenient. The lake was behind the hotel so easy access. There is also a very nice and big restaurant right beside the hotel which was a bonus. The ferry station was about 10 minutes walk so not bad. Over all the hotel was great. Breakfast was included with our stay. It was average. "

"This review covers 2 nights at the hotel. We had to book 2 separate rooms as the type we wanted was only available for the 2nd night. Key point: book a room in the refurbished/new part of the hotel. Our night 2 room was excellent. It even had a sauna in the room! A huge very comfortable bed and great lake view. And an amazing breakfast - just huge selection of things (sweet things like cakes - not so much on the cooked "front". But night 1 was very poor. A disinterested person at check-in and a very "tired" (albeit huge) room with a dripping shower. It was cheap. But when we realised that the one or two ants that we saw in the room turned out to be hundreds in various places we had to ask for a change of room. Which was agreed - and was a small taste of what was to come on night 2. A refurbished room that was so much better than the first one in every way. The hotel is in between 2 roads. We arrived at it on what is an urban dual carriageway. Reception is more like an office building reception than a hotel. Combined, those 2 things put us off to start with even before the ants. However we later foound the other road, beside Lake Como and which brings you in via the new side. A completely different impression is given. We would certainly stay there again - but only in certain rooms. Oh, and BTW, the view from the dining room over Como is superb. Hghly recommended. Unlike the view from the bar - of the dual carraigeway!"

"Villa Helena is a spacious, well equipped and beautifully furnished villa in a stunning location with marvellous views of Lecco and Lake Como. The Villa has its own garden with outdoor dining facilities and wifi is excellent. The Villa is as good, if not better, than the photos suggest. Although approximately 5 kms from Lecco centre a car is not essential as a reliable bus service is available with a bus stop nearby. Owner, Elena, and the gardener, Gigi, live on site. They are not intrusive but they are extremely welcoming and both go out of their way to assist when required. Highly recommended."

"The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was large with a nice bathroom, a big balcony facing the lake and the mountains. The view was peaceful, the lake was serene, and the common areas were tidy and pretty. Lecco was much less congested than Como, but if you wanted to go to Como, it was only a 35 minute drive with amazing views. I recommend this hotel. "

"If you check the 5 star reviews here some have unrelated pictures or are made by people who only give 5 star reviews. These are made by paid review farms to artificially boost the star rating. Sadly, I was duped and booked this place for my family through Expedia for a non-refundable rate. Firstly, it's not located where Google maps has it. It's located behind the Fiorista Adda (towards the lake). The receptionist was nice enough to contact us on Whatsapp and stay in touch with us until we arrived. The room was pretty big with high ceilings but had very odd decor. The lights were dingy and dark. The shower had no curtain and was open to the entire large bathroom. There was no toilet paper holder, just a small black stool as a makeshift holder. The flush buttons were broken and I figured out it was the small metal button at the bottom near the bidet. There was a weird textured styrofoam tile in various places and mismatched wall designs. The biggest problem was, after my wife showered, the hot water ran out while my son was showering and he had to finish in freezing cold water. The electric hot water heater and tank was in the bathroom and made a very loud rumbling that was extremely irritating that can be heard on the queen bed outside. We waited for a while and there was no hot water. Nobody could help because it was past 8:30pm. Also the wifi was very spotty. My sons didn't sleep well on the sofa beds because the mattresses were too thin. Overall, disappointing! Don't book!"
