"Gorgeous resort "
This was our first stay-cation for my girlfriend's birthday and we were pretty please with things despite a few hiccups. The grounds were fabulous and meticulously taken care of. Since we arrived mid/late morning our room wasn't ready but we just chilled by the pool. Unfortunately it took 20 mins for towels to arrive. Pool side service was prompt and friendly. They called to let us know our room was available. We reserved a Camelback view room however it was half blocked by a tree. The patio has nice large lounges/beds which makes enjoying a bottle of wine and taking in the view a relaxing experience. The other downside was neither the TV nor the phones worked. Dinner at Prado was amazing - the paella delicious. Despite the minor missed expectations as mentioned above we'd still go back. At checkout I mentioned the issues and they deeply apologized. The manager is supposed to reach out to us above the issues we had, hope they follow up as promised.

I thought room service could use a check list template when serving to go orders. 1. Boxes 2. To go containers for dressings 3. condiments 4. Napkins 5. Plastic ware Room service made 4 trips to accommodate the forgotten items. i believe a checklist should be in place for this as it delayed our check out time as well as schedule.

"Workable hotel. Nothing extravagant. "
Arrived after a nightmare travel day. (US Airway) Matt upgraded my room which was nice. It took me awhile to find it. When I did it was basement and dark. I returned to the lobby and Matt quickly and kindly put me in a 2 floor sunny room looking towards the pool. Not a very active property. Quiet and dark. I went to the pool a couple of times. No one was there. I was there Sunday thru Thursday though. So it may have just been an off time of week. They are currently renovating there restaurant? So the convenience of food or better coffee was not an option. I traveled to get better coffee every morning and of course food when it was mealtime. So probably don't stay here if you do not have transportation. At least while the restaurant is being renovated. The pool and the pool furniture was older and covered in tree debree. Hardly something they could help of course. The second time I went to the pool there were not any towels. I called the lobby and they right away brought towels to the pool. The room was comfortable. and my overall stay was good. I would probably seek out a more active, resort type place for next time.

Best and Worst Times to Visit Phoenix

Phoenix is located in the desert, where you’ll find dry, desert heat all year round. If you’re in the mood for comfortable temperatures ranging between 70 and 80 degrees F, consider visiting from November to April. Often called the snowbird season, this time of year attracts vacationers looking to bask in the warm weather during the winter months. Due to the comfortable temperatures and increase in visitors, rates tend to be higher during these months.

Looking to turn up the heat? Visit between May and October. Summer temperatures spike to 100 degrees F, which can be borderline uncomfortable, unless you’re hanging around the pool. Toward the tail-end of the summer, monsoon season rolls in, which can bring moisture and humidity. If you don’t mind the scorching temperatures and a little rain, you’ll find cheaper rates during these months, especially from June to August.

    Things to Do

Get out and about and explore the scenery in Phoenix during your stay. Lace up your hiking boots and hit the Sunrise Trail at McDowell Mountains, or saunter around the cacti displays at the Desert Botanical Gardens. The Japanese Friendship Garden is another serene spot, while the Pueblo Grande Museum and Cultural Park offers insight into the ancient Hohokam culture.

During your stay, beat the heat and spend the day indoors exploring Phoenix’s many museums. Discover Native American artifacts at the Heard Museum, and check out the masterpieces by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera at the Phoenix Museum of Art. If your kids are vacationing with you, treat them to a day at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, or venture over to the Arizona Science Center, where they’ll love the hands-on exhibits and planetarium. After spending the day frolicking around the capital city, retreat to one of the best Phoenix resorts in town.
