“Very tired old property. When they showed us the room it first reminded me of one of the servant quarters in a recent historic house tour. We booked a classic double. The room was damp, full of dusty furniture and the bed mattress springs were gone. There was a tiny window with a view to nothing. We lasted 10 mins and left. The manager gave us lots of options, one being the same room type and the other being the front door with just an apology and no refund offered. First time I ever left a……

“Liked the house itself with the public rooms. We booked a deluxe room but it was okay. No outlook from window, just looked at a wall. Although the staff were friendly, the system they followed was not up to par. On check in we were not advised where anything was ie restaurant or bar. It was later when we spoke to another member we were shown where things were. Breakfast, the food was lovely but you had to go and get your own milk for your tea or coffee, sauce etc had to tell the staff one day……

“The room was very clean and the property gorgeous. Windows in the room opened, which was necessary as there is not central air and the weather was warm. Owners were so friendly and helpful! The food was delicious and the views were spectacular.”

“Everything was exceptional. The hospitality from Graham and Sheena was second to none. We got lost our first night out and after a quick call, Graham got us back on track and was actually on his way out to find us when we turned up the drive! That is the level of hospitality provided. Breakfast was delectable! Fresh, buttery croissants, creamy eggs, tasty haggis, sweet fried tomatoes and the tenderest bacon! The beds were so comfortable and the pillows so fluffy!!!
