“I would not recommend staying here at all. My husband and I have stayed in many places and we always make it a habit to do a room check. This place was disgusting. The floors were so filthy like they’ve never swept or mopped at all. My husband took a washcloth and wet it and took his foot to run it across the floor and it was black, and covered with hair etc. We untucked the bed to do a cleanliness check and there was what looked like a yellowish brown stain under the bed protector!! Absolutely……

“It was a perfect spot for a couples getaway. Private, charming and wonderfully accommodating staff. Great continental breakfast. We stayed on the third floor. Needed to climb two flights of steepish stairs. Not sure if they have an elevator that would accommodate someone who could not climb stairs. Need to inquire before booking.”

The cottage was clean, quaint, cozy, and comfortable, and the beautiful sunsets over the lake were definitely a highlight!A few minor things to note: the kayaks could use some upkeep, as they had standing water in them and we couldn’t locate life jackets. Also - I’m very sensitive to cigarette smoke and did notice a lingering odor, particularly from the couch. “This was an amazing overnight stay! So much better than we were expecting to enjoy it. The lions, all 4, were in front of our window for almost the entire stay, both in the afternoon/night and again in the morning before leaving. To have them lounging, playing, sleeping, grooming right in front of the window with literally your hand separating them from you by plexiglass is unforgettable. My 3 young adult children also agree this was worth the money to experience for a night. We also were able……
