Great VacationPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: Rooms, Restaurants
Cons: Kids club was a little basic.
Location: Location is great and allowed for a relaxing vacation. Fishing nearby in Isla Blanca is awesome!!
Villa del Palmar Cancun is a great resort. The rooms are very comfortabe and spacious, the restaurants are amazing, the pools and amenities are very good and the service is personable and attentive. We had no issues with signing invoives for meals and drinks and liked the option to leave a tip by signing an amount to the room. My wife spent half a day at the spa and raved about it. We travelled as two families and had 4 kids under the age of 10. They had lots of fun swimming in the pools and ocean, playing on the beach and spent a small amount of time in the kids club doiong arts and crafts and playing games. Overall it was a great experience and would return again.

One of the friendliest staff we ever encounteredPosted Nov 20, 2013
Pros: Staff, hotel amenities, and the beach which is great for kids and elderly guests since waves are moderate and the access is very shallow.
Cons: There needs to be info about official taxi tariffs. Price is for one or several passengers. No mention that there are public vans available.
Location: It is located way out of town. No public bus stop nearby. Nevertheless, there are public vans to flag down to get to town.
The location is just gorgeous. Plenty of spaces to spend the day. The breakfast buffet is fantastic; never missed one out of the 15 days. Very family friendly. Only thing we did not like was transportation to get to town. The hotel offers several free-of charge shuttles. Nevertheless, we were looking to get around at times we wished to. The taxi drivers are just a nuisance. They charge outrages rates. Only after a couple of days did we find out that there is a local bus service: Across the street, just flag down the VANS. Cost you only 7 pesos, and drivers as well passengers are helpful to tell where to get off. Once you are in town, you can go on using the public buses, which are reliable and safe.

Beautiful Hotel Resort near the BeachPosted Nov 5, 2013
This was my first trip to Mexico for a Holiday and it won't be my last . Villa del Palmar is a new facility and the staff were so gracious and did every thing posible to make my stay pleasureable . I especially enjoyed swimming in the ocean and pools . The afternoon swimming exercize class was alot of fun ; as was the evening entertainment . The food was out of this world in both Mexican and American style ; as was the service. I can't wait to book another Holiday to Mexico and l wouldn't even consider staying any where else but Villa del Palmar . My Thanks to Expedia for Booking the Holiday ; it wen't off with out a hitch

Nice hotel but our room too noisyPosted Oct 28, 2013
We have a great time, the check in and check out process took a long time. The room we got was too noisy because theres a busy street backwards. The food was good and the pools a little cold.

Honeymoon StayPosted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: Very Clean
Cons: Lighting; I suggest maybe a dimmer in the room
Location: Hotel strip, the mujeres island/ What I loved the most is the columbus cruise dinner
The resorts was very, very nice. My husband and I had a few customer service issues and the front desk and we had a long wait on towels. We were only provided two washcloths daily. The service in the restaurants and the rest of the resort was EXCELLENT. We prepaid for honeymoon packgage that we didn't receive upon arrival, but once we inquired about it, we had it in the room the next day, which took away from the WOW! It was very nice, but wish it was there upon arrival. We were also billed for it and it was later removed from the bill without any issues. The next morning after our arrival we met with the conceirge who was very nice that took us to talk about a time share that should have taking 90 minutes turned into 3 hours of our day which resulted in NO out of frustration. However, we had a few issues but will not be a determining factor on us returning. We love the resort and will be back again next year.

Great resortPosted Oct 12, 2013
The staff and food was great! Room was very relaxing. We enjoyed the one bed rm suite ocean view. Need to come up with a better system in regards to bands you have to wear for all inclusive. People with skin condition, it's not feasible to wear the tags all day.

Excellent stay!Posted Oct 2, 2013
Location: The hotel is not on the tourist strip, which is nice. It's a bit remote, but it's 50m from the ferry dock to Isla Mujeres (underwater museum).
I was pleasantly surprised and I'm so glad we booked this hotel! Based on previous reviews I've read, I was very hesitant to book at Villa del Palmar, but it seems that in 2013 the hotel has really done a lot to improve guests' experience, and our stay was absolutely amazing! I would recommend this hotel to anyone - the rooms were absolutely fantastic, we had a gorgeous view, the facilities are top-notch and it was just such a great experience overall. No one approached us about time share, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast buffet was absolutely lovely and they had such a big variety of tasty food. You can definitely not go wrong when booking at Villa del Palmar.
