Lowest level of service I’ve ever received at a resort. Every venue (bars, restaurants and coffee shop) had long lines and minimum staff. Timeshare type presentations was 4 hrs of our day when promised it was only an hour. Offered lots of gifts for taking part and then only received a fraction of them. When I asked what happened was ignored and fed lies I will never be back and wouldn’t recommend this or any H10 properties

Good sized room. Decent restaurant choice. The hotel is looking a little tired. Excellent staff. The biggest issue is the towels on sunbeds without people using them. We experienced unused sunbeds with “reserved towels” for 4 hours. The hotel doesn’t enforce its rules which can lead to guest confrontations.

Loved the restaurant selection here. Never really a problem to find a place to eat every night that’s not the buffet. Drinks selection was unlimited and they even set up extra margarita stands every night. Loved the abundance of wildlife. So fun to watch the monkeys every morning, the coatis every day and the kitties by night.

It’s a nice hotel, large kind of like a small town to itself. Most of the staff are very friendly. We had some issues at check in as they downgraded two of our three rooms, as a result of over booking. They still have not credited us back for the difference. I’m hoping they do obviously. The privilege upgrade was worth it. The Butler we had, Allen was excellent. overall, I recommend this hotel. once the winds died down, the beach was beautiful and they kept it clean. The ocean front rooms are large suites with a really nice view.

This was the perfect resort. So many activities for all age levels. Kids had so much to do and so many pools to choose from. Food was fantastic and always available from the restaurants to the buffet to the coffee shop and little lunch places throughout the resort. I would suggest getting the privileged level access as it opens up one to two more pools depending on age (there is one adult only pool) and also gives preference for booking the restaurants. The beach was also fantastic and clean and no one harassing you to buy anything. They do have people out on the beach to offer pictures, massage, braids etc but they don’t continue to ask if you say no. Service was fantastic. Every staff member we encountered was so helpful and friendly. Would definitely return to this specific resort as well as consider the hotel brand in new places as well.

“5-Star Fraud” – Ocean Riviera Paradise ⭐ 1/5 – 5-STAR FRAUD This hotel is a complete scam. It’s advertised as a 5-star resort, but the reality is far from it. Severely understaffed, slow and disorganized service, and poor customer attention. The food is very low quality, with limited options and endless lines for everything, even the buffet. Several times we couldn’t even get into the restaurants. The beach is full of rocks and seaweed, not what you expect in Cancun. You pay for luxury and get chaos instead. Do not recommend at all. There are much better options for the same price. “Fraude de 5 estrellas” – Ocean Riviera Paradise ⭐ 1/5 – FRAUDE DE 5 ESTRELLAS Este hotel es un engaño total. Lo venden como 5 estrellas, pero la realidad es completamente diferente. Falta de personal en todas las áreas, servicio lento, desorganizado y con muy mala atención. La comida es de pésima calidad, con muy pocas opciones y colas interminables para todo, incluso para el buffet. En varias ocasiones ni siquiera pudimos entrar a los restaurantes. Everything about this resort was lovely. The staff, the room, the critters running around. My one caveat, and this would probably dissuade me from returning, is the loud music blaring from 8am on. The beach pool was much nicer because it was way quieter so you just heard the sounds of people having fun. But, it would be nice to enjoy the pool right outside our room. The buffet food was generally good but we were unable to get a reservation for any of the specialty restaurants. Our visit to the beach restaurant was aborted when, after waiting in line, we were told they couldn't put 2 tables together for our party of 7 because of reservations by the Privilege Club members. Not a good look.

Our overall stay was good as we did not go with high expectations. Even though it is a 5 star hotel, it does not feel luxurious. They had a lot of entertainment options which was good, however, most of the entertainment areas such as the Game room and Bowling did not open until 2 or 4pm in the afternoon. Given the number of rooms and guests they have the bowling option was only available from 4pm to 11pm and if you try to go there after 10pm they straight away refuse to accommodate you. Out of our 5 days stay at the hotel we got to experience bowling only once and were refused twice saying they are full. Even though out of 4 or 5 lanes they had they were operating only 2 lanes and the staff there said it was reserved for a family. On the other hand when I asked to reserve for next day they told me its 1st come 1st serve. So I was being told 2 different things. The check in experience wasn't great either, we interacted with Manuel for our check in and he didn't seem welcoming at all. He was kind of irritated too when I asked to repeat an information. All other front desk staff were okay except for Manuel who didn't seem to be interested to help or provide information when asked. Another rude staff was Ismayil at Route 66 restaurant who looked as if he didn't want guests to come in. I am not sure if their staff are way underpaid but they didn't seem to be smiling or happy to help. Having said that, the staff at Mikes coffee place were the only ones who would smile & greet.

Our stay at the Ocean Riviera Paradise was great! The resort itself was well maintained, and I liked the feel and set up of the place. The staff was great, and the dining experiences were good. I would say what made our trip exceptional was our butler Alan! He definitely went above and beyond! Any requests that we had he took care of, and always just checking in to make sure we were always ok. That was greatly appreciated so definitely special shout out to Alan!

The pool was nice and clean, however the floor of it was very rough and my feet were raw after a couple days of being in it. 2nd the pool chairs were snatched up by 6:30AM. If want a pool chair you have to put something on them, claiming them, early on. The arcade was not free and was expensive. The pool table was $3 per play as well. Overall a fantastic resort.

Overall, the stay was decent, but the property is neither high-end nor particularly well managed. There were multiple instances where we couldn’t reach anyone at reception, bell service, or room service for hours. On some Sundays, housekeeping didn’t service the room unless we specifically requested it. Our luggage was also significantly delayed—what was promised in 20 minutes took nearly five hours to arrive. The resort itself feels outdated, though it does offer good entertainment for kids, especially the waterpark and playground areas. The property is quite large, so getting around often requires golf cart transportation, which can involve long wait times. Another downside was the constant sales pressure. Staff repeatedly encouraged us not to book through platforms like Expedia or other travel agencies, claiming we could save thousands by booking directly with them. In our experience, these felt like misleading sales tactics with unrealistic promises, which was frustrating. In summary, I would consider this place only if it fits your budget or if you specifically want to stay at this resort. Otherwise, there are better options available. The food was below average in both quality and variety—I would rate it 2 out of 5 stars.

This is an incredible resort for kids. So many fun things for them to do. We booked solely for the water park and my kids played on it for 20 minutes the first day then didn’t touch it again. The slides are slow so it’s more work than it’s worth for them. We didn’t do the kids club, but the kids club staff have an event for kids in the main square everyday. I would make sure your trip includes at least one Saturday. The square is a real party that night - all the vendors show up and it’s like a mini Mexican market.
