Small hotel. Good for families.Posted Apr 14, 2014
This is our third time in Playa and shocked at the size of this resort. It's a small resort, but good for families and proximity to the water. Even though there was an adults only area, it was small and without beach access. The beach was small- overrun by children, water toys, catamarans and kayaks. When you weren't watching your step, you were dodging floating debris. Food was ok. Not as much fried food as most all inclusives but nothing special in terms of the restaurants. Service was very slow. Check in/check out/concigere services were slow but friendly. Room was nice, except the running toliet and the 24 hour next door construction. Since the resort was small, be prepared to be kept up all night if you find yourself sharing the resort with drunks on the balcony.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us and the Expedia community following your recent stay at our resort. We apologize that you felt there were too many children here at the resort, we are a family orientated resort however we do offer a quiet area for those guests travelling without children. Please be advised that it is for this reason that these facilities are located away from the beach and activities pool in order to preserve the tranquility that most guests are looking for when they choose to visit our adults only area. You may understand that when it comes to food, taste and perception are involved and it is always difficult to get a 100% of satisfaction, but this does not stop us from continuously looking for ways to improve. We can guarantee you that we will continue challenging ourselves so our guests enjoy our food and all of our guests' feedback is precious for this continuous process. Once again, thank you for expressing your opinion; it is very important to us as we are always looking for ways to improve our service and achieve ultimate guest satisfaction. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to our resort in the near future and change the poor perception you seem to have of us. Sincerely, Rebecca Tunstall E-Concierge & Social Media Coordinator

May be I was hard to please...Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: Dolphin is the biggest selling point. You may need to leave your resort as an excursion to see Dolphin, Dreams PA has them in house.
Cons: May be giving client a functional room please...
Location: Playa Del Carmen, nice area to shop or even just window shop or different dining experience
3 families, group of 11 (6 adults, 5 kids from 2-7 years old), booked this Springbreak trip in Nov 2013. Contacted DreamsPA via e-mail (3 days prior) to have rooms closer (not side by side). DreamsPA replied with a Hi and said understood our request, then no follow-ups. Rm 460 had a bad bath tub. Coz it was after 10pm and I needed to shower those kids, I paid to upgraded to top floor Rm 739. From 2x Double bed in 460 to 1 King size bed plus adding 1 single bed, and requested a crib. The added single bed was transported by a big trolley. That same big trolley was the bed frame. Again my 2 children were playing with those wheels on the trolley which were not meant to be toys. Paint was peeling off on that trolley. Nothing was done I asked Concierge and Front desk, they gave me a newer trolley frame. An added bed was in Rm528 with a normal wood frame. They knew we have kids but glassware were everywhere in Rm 739. Cannot get plastic cups until next day. So called upgraded room 739 had the exact same layout as 626 except higher ceiling. Not bigger, not more comfy, TV was not functioning and I had to call and wait for fixing again. 1 phone terminal was broken. I still wondered why I paid for lack of service. To be fair, 739 had better washroom supplies, and more variety (bottle juice) in the fridge. Those 2 were not found in 528 or 626 where our friends stayed. When the added bed and the crib could be an issue, bathroom supply, and juice seems hard to justify.

Super Family Vacation with Happy, Screaming Kids:)Posted Mar 29, 2014
Pros: They treated kids like mini adults - helping themselves to the "kids drink of the day" and family friendly entertainment. Many activities for kids.
Cons: The kids were so tired out they wished the shows started earlier:) Adults need to understand it's a family resort. Maybe that needs to be made clear.
Location: Dolphin Experience at the resort and onsite photography. Tulum and snorkeling with Sea Turtles at Akumel was great, snorkeling needs a strong swimmer.
For families looking for a great getaway with their kids look no further! We booked a last minute trip for our family of 5 with 0 expectations and it was fabulous! I can't find one thing to complain about. The staff was friendly and willing to do anything to make things great with or without tips. We prefer to tip because everyone works really hard. The family suite was the right size for our family of 5 and the pullout couch was very comfortable. The room was clean and we had a great view with a balcony. If you have ever traveled to the Riviera Maya area and stayed at other resorts you will know the room is about the best you can expect. This is my 3rd stay in this area and the room was on par with all the others. We were greeted with champagne and drinks for the kids(in plastic cups) upon check in and when we requested a room change to have more of an ocean view we were accommodated the very next day. No Problem since it was our last minute change. Food and drinks were great and plentiful. We would do this one again in a heartbeat. If I were going away with just my husband or a group of adults I wouldn't be caught dead at a family resort - any family resort. If you want peace and quiet go to an adults only. There are plenty of them in that area. There is an adults only side but you still need to interact with kids and adults at the beach and some restaurants. Tons of kids activities and the entertainment was really good! We were pleasantly surprised

Nice HotelPosted Mar 21, 2014
Cons: transportation to and from airport
Found the hotel and staff to be friendly and clean, staff were always willing to help serve us. Would be great if there was a shuttle service to and from airport for the price being payed.

beautiful views , great foodPosted Feb 27, 2014
overall, this resort was amazing. The views, location, amenities and staff went above and beyond our expectation. Only minor negative were the strict dress code enforcements at some of the restaurants. A little bit exaggerated for my taste. additionally, it can get very noisy at night.

Dear Guest, We appreciate you taking the time to share your review here in Expedia and we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay here with us. We apologize that you felt the dress code enforcement was exaggerated. We do only have a dress code for one of our 6 restaurants as all of the others do have a casual-elegant dress code. We are sorry if this was not made clear to your during your stay. We hope to have the chance to welcome you back once again in the near future. Nice All Inclusive Hotel, geared toward families.Posted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Location to beach, pools, restaurants, amenities, close to dophin exhibit/experience, staff.
Cons: size of beds (upgrade to queens), overall quality of rooms (need of painting) and to make sure everything works before guests arrive.
Location: Great beach location, deep sea fishing at nearby (walking distance) marina, dophin experience, small town with shops.
Overall we had a really good experience. This is the 2nd DREAMS hotel we stayed at in Mexico, the other being Dreams in Tulum, Mexico. I gave overall hotel a 4 out of 5. The staff and facilities, restaurants, pools, beach area were all excellent. Lower scores for the actual rooms. The rooms were not as nice as the ones at the Tulum resort. We had to have couple things fixed as soon as we got to the room (shower drain plugged, shower handle missing). The beds were also very soft, too soft for my liking, but I like a firmer mattress anyway. We have a family of 5 and stayed in an oceanview room # 430 that had 2 double beds and a pull-out couch. Really would be better to have 2 queens for a 6 night stay. Food and restaurant selection were great, especially liked the Italian restaurant and Sushi restaurant.

Beautiful hotel!Posted Feb 17, 2014
This hotel was quite nice. Beautiful beach and pools, adult and family. Lots of lounge chairs for everyone to enjoy. Staff are all very friendly. Not all understand English completely, but we made out.fine. the restaurants are great. Food was artfully presented and all restaurants had great tasting food and options. Room service was a really nice option too. A little coffee shop on the main floor was convenient. Families seemed like they were having a great time here too with the explorers club. Entertainment staff was very friendly and energetic.

Very Nice VacationPosted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: Ocean view room and everything close to get to in resort; many area attractions nearby especially Charter Fishing which was within walking distance.
Cons: Better selection on the Dinner Buffet; many of the beach chairs were uncomfortable and need of repair. Had many children in the adult only area???
Location: Great location for nearby activities
Room had a great view of the Ocean and very roomy; food was very good in the restaurants and the Bars had quality liquor and beer ( Bud Light was a big plus!) Very Relaxing! Swimming with the Dolphins here was Awesome! The only thing that really bothered me was one day when we returned to our room we found the room door open after the cleaning crew had been there.

Lovely Hotel in cozy covePosted Feb 6, 2014
Pros: Quality and service was excellent and affordable!
Location: Quaint area with gated community and local venues nearby.
This was our second visit to Mexico as well as our second stay at a Dreams Hotel. Hotel staff were friendly, helpful and very inviting. The services were top notch and always to our satisfaction. The Superbowl celebration was "over the top" and it was exciting to take part! It was nice to take the odd stroll outside the hotel along the streets of surrounding area. The only thing we "disliked" (I hesitate to use that word) was this hotel is on a more rugged coastline than we normally choose therefore we were unable to take long walks for exercise and relaxation.
