“Really great hotel in a perfect location... Our room was perfect, clean, large & well furnished. Bed, linen & towels all freshly laundered. Evening meal was well presented with lovely fresh local products. The menu and choices were very varied. ( Maybe not too much choice if you dont eat red meat. ) The dining room is well set out and in the summer months would be lovely to be able to sit outside ( we visited January 2026 ) The breakfast menu was equally charming and a difficult decision……

“We had a lovely stay at The Rutland Arms Hotel. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Bakewell and ideal for exploring the town and surrounding Peak District. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and healthy ingredients. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and we would happily stay here again”

“All elements of the hotel were well presented. The room was excellent and we had a choice of a shower or bath. The staff were polite and respectful to guests which made it a relaxing visit. The breakfast menu was excellent with individual requirements met. ie poached eggs etc. There are ample EV charging points in the car park. Unfortunately we did not use the pool complex on this occasion. We would stay here again in the near future. Well done.”

“Lovely bedroom and bathroom. We were very warm and comfortable. Would suggest install a small handrail when going up the two steps into the bathroom would be a great help for the less able bodied. Really enjoyed being there and hope to return. ”

“Excellent facilities and very clean room. Very quiet. Only downside was radiators on full all night and could not be turned down/off so very hot. ”

“Really nice looking property with easy parking. Food was excellent and location was out of the way quiet but still easy to get to. Some negatives was that the matteress was old and soft so you rolled toward the center and one of the receptionists had limited people skills. No conversation loke 'good morning, how was your stay.... anything and one of the advertised benefits of that roaring fire was not kept alight so any though of having a drink after dinner infront of it ..you can forget.……
