"Great little cabin on a pretty, quiet pond. My son loved fishing in their rowboat. I loved reading on the porch. It was clean and well taken care of. It’s in a remote area so we brought food and laid low while we were there. Loved hearing the loons and watching the sunset. We had a great time and didn’t want to leave. Thank you! "

"This is a lovely home and property. The area is quiet and you don't see/hear any neighbors. The hosts provided a fun scavenger hunt (with prizes!) on arrival.There were many fun water toys: pontoon boat, kayaks, paddle boards. The waterfront area is small, bottom of the lake is not sandy (kids will want water shoes).Highlights: beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, nice fire pit, fun game room.A note that may help future guests: the loft as very short ceilings and is most suitable for young children. I am only 5'4" and I had to duck to get up there. You will not want to plan on using those beds for teens/adults. Also, there is a pack and play in a closet and a highchair in the game room, which aren't listed in the amenities. "

"Our experience at this remarkable property was truly wonderful. The high-grade grill allowed us to enjoy delectable meals, while the host's communication was outstanding. The house was immaculately maintained and equipped with everything we needed. The fishing pond and fire pit were fantastic amenities, and the grandchildren had a blast playing ping pong, swinging, ziplining - every moment was enjoyable. "The Scottish Inn used to be a run-down and poorly-maintained mom-and-pop motel called The Nomad. The current owners have completely overhauled and modernized the establishment. Now the rooms are up-to-date, clean, attractive, well-furnished and comfortable. This is not a high-end-luxury area. However, for travelers looking for an economical place to stay that is close to practical retail and dining establishments, the Scottish in is an excellent choice. A Walmart store is just one minute up the road to the west. A tasty down-home restaurant called Eben’s Hearth is just a couple minutes away in the other direction. Gas stations, additional practical stores and eateries can be found by driving into Potsdam, crossing the bridge on the left and going north toward the retail strip on outer Market Street. Downtown Potsdam is very small and most of the beautiful historic storefronts are empty. This area would be a perfect spot for an arts festival looking for a location. There is a beautiful park next to the river. This is a college town for students from working-class families. If you’re looking for a friendly, practical, no-nonsense place to stay, eat and shop, you should definitely consider staying at the Scottish Inn and exploring the area."

"The treehouse was very cozy and cooled down very well at night. They have great trails and kayaks to use which the dog loved. The hosts were communicative and gracious. They gave us some fresh strawberries from their garden as well. We hope to get back in the not too distant future. "
