"Positive comments: The staff was welcoming and helpful. The room was roomy and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Other comments: I missed not having a mini bar. My sister and I arrived after 10 PM. We didn't get a chance to eat since noon. I didn't notice the snacks in the lobby until the next day. So, it's no a criticism of the hotel. Just a personal preference. I wished the hotel had a shuttle service to/from the airport or train. Overall, our stay was pleasant and the staff's helpfulness was much appreciated."

"wonderful historic building! rooms on the 1st.floor were small on American scale, more french/paris.size but the bathrooms were good sized. the "restaurant" was only serving breakfast and was SUPER SUPER slow. bar was good, great bartenders. food choices.were limited but served relatively quickly.and.super good. there are tons of restaurants on Emerson St. wi walking distance. red hot does a good standard breakfast all.day."

"Location is very good and walkable to lots of good restaurants. In my case the downtown hotels were very expensive so the guesthouse seemed like a good deal in comparison. As long as you have expectations in check (it's a kitschy if not sort of an odd property) then I think it's a very solid choice. We found it to be clean and the staff tried very hard. My son was a little taken aback by it and didn't love the boarded up / semi burned building next door... That said it seemed like a safe neighborhood and a short walk to Gabriel's Gate. The price was right for sure!"
