"This property was described on Expedia as a boutique hotel. It is a large former mental asylum built in 1880. In the lobby there are pictures of patients, artifacts that belonged to the patients, and stories about horrific episodes during their time in the asylum. Many patients were women who were committed by their husbands in the 1920s and 1930s for being “hysterical housewives” and received electroshock treatment as a cure. It is also located in the middle of the Buffalo State campus?? This hotel has a bad energy and it not a place to enjoy a relaxing weekend. We stayed one night. I felt like I was in an episode of “American Horror Story” walking the through the corridors where our room was located. If you enjoy the brutal history of the treatment of the mentally ill or people that were committed against for being hard to deal with or gay this is the hotel for you! Expedia needs to change the description of this hotel on their AP."

"This was THE WORST hotel I ever booked. I had to walk out and leave within a few hours because it was that disgusting. There was feces/crap left in the toilet and there was food crumbs on the tops of the counters near the bed and gum stuck into the carpet and what looked like blood stains on the wall and the towels that you would use on the body had horrible tinted stains on them and the bathroom floor felt like you were going to stay stuck to it. I had to go out of my way to find somewhere else to sleep....it was that disgusting!"
