"Nice hotel in Old San Juan"
Everything was perfect. Staff was great, rooms clean and sound proof! We enjoyed the ability to just sit out in any of the many areas of the hotel enjoying either a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. 24 hours of free chilled water bottles, coffee and/or tea, and 6pm free wine and cheese everyday pretty much made us think twice about ever leaving the hotel. :) Hotel El Convento is a quaint hotel with an elegant courtyard and 2 restaurants. The hotel is strategically located close to the San Juan gate and El Morro Fort. Strolling along the banks of the Fort at night through the San Juan gate is picturesque and romantic. It is far enough from the cruise crowds and right in the heart of colorful Old San Juan but walking distance to most restaurants. My wife and I had the greatest down time just hanging out at the hotel. Would definitely stay there again as opposed to large, modern hotels with claustrophobic hallways.

Pocket Guide: San Juan, Puerto Rico Island Historic Hotels

San Juan is the capital of Puerto Rico, and its cultural hub. Half of the island’s population lives in the greater metropolitan area, and most visitors enter here as well. Old San Juan, with its cobblestone streets and old colonial architecture, lies on a small island connected to the mainland by bridges; it is guarded by 16th and 17th century forts, now World Heritage sites open to the public.
