Hotel El Convento

100 Cristo St, San Juan 00901 - Map
"Beautiful place."
The location was perfect. Right by wonderful restaurants and bars. The place itself is stunning from the woodwork to the open air concept throughout the entire building. We only stayed one evening, but enjoyed it emensly. I would recommend it to anyone staying in Old San Juan. The history is rich in the area and also in this lovely hotel. We had a drink at the bar. They have a nice wine list. We also had breakfast which was mediocre. I probably would not eat there again, especially with such great restaurants nearby. Our server was a little slow and was distracted by other employees so it took a long time for him to give us the check. I did not stay there to dine in so that does not have amy influence on how great I thought our stay was. We did not go to the pool, but it looked very nice and serene. When we go again we will be sure to stay a few more days so we can enjoy it.

Pocket Guide: San Juan, Puerto Rico Island Historic Hotels

San Juan is the capital of Puerto Rico, and its cultural hub. Half of the island’s population lives in the greater metropolitan area, and most visitors enter here as well. Old San Juan, with its cobblestone streets and old colonial architecture, lies on a small island connected to the mainland by bridges; it is guarded by 16th and 17th century forts, now World Heritage sites open to the public.
