This was in a great location for Old San Juan! We were able to walk everywhere we eanted to go. All of the staff was friendly and helpful! However, with it being off season, though, the staff was limited which meant check in was slow. Also, the restaurant was closed. Also, there were needed repairs like the leak in our room's bathroom ceiling. The water was pooling around the outlet. Thankfully i noticed it and was able to dry it before i plugged in the hair dryer!

La Terraza de San Juan is a moderately nice hotel still in Viejo San Juan, but far enough away from the cruise port that you get the fewest amount of cruise tourists as possible. The hotel is cute and definitely a boutique hotel, but certainly needs updating. Shower was way too hot, and while the maintenance person was fast to address it, the single mixing valve made it either too cold or too hot. Sink trap leaked as well. As other guests pointed out, elevator is slow and felt like it was going to stop working at any point. The tile floor in the elevator was also cracked in multiple places. The bar in the lobby was closed the entire time we stayed and so was the one on the Terraza, so we never got our "free drink" being silver VIP status through Expedia. The pool was ok, but dirty and small. Lots of cracked tiles and flooring everywhere on the Terraza. However, the view was amazing from the Terraza. Staff were so-so. Some were nice and accommodating, but one staff member (Marta) was not so friendly on several occasions, especially when my fiance asked if the front desk had a bandaid. Overall, it's a cute boutique hotel that definitely gives you the Viejo San Juan experience, but kind of feels like you are in Havana, not San Juan. Solid 2.5-3 stars, but definitely not 4. I would return only for nostalgic purposes with my fiance.

I am travelling to SJU regulary for the last 20 years, its the closes big airport to my home Virgin Gorda. I habe been a guest in this property since its first opening more than a decade ago. Now the property makes a bit of a rundown impression. My request for a later checkout resulted in an offer to move from 12:00 to 1:30 for a fee of 50 $. Mentioning the VIP Expedia status (later check out should be free if available) did not help. So maybe time to say goodbye to this property...

This apartment unit was absolutely wonderful! Spacious, old world charm, in the center of Old San Juan, fully functional AC, and friendly staff.2 full bedrooms with queen beds, 2 full bathrooms, a whole living room with WiFi, and a full kitchen. 10/10. The only thing was the rooftop pool is a bit small (5 person max) and both bars were not in service. Other than that breakfast can be ordered and you are in walking distance of everything!

The property overall is fine with the area and things around it. The room was okay and the air conditioner runs full blast and you have to ask the front desk to adjust it. The bed was creaky but comfy. The TV only had two channels if that matters to you.

Really unique property in Old San Juan. Very reasonable prices considering the area. Is not set up like a chain hotel in terms of amenities but it isn't a chain hotel, it's a historic building, so I didn't expect it to look like a Hilton. The room was clean, the A/C worked, they staff the reception 24/7 (had a flight that arrived after midnight so really nice to be able to check in quickly), and the location is perfectly positioned for exploring Old San Juan and nearby neighborhoods. Also the windowless room actually worked out really well as it kept in the A/C and kept out most of the bugs that are everywhere in this climate no matter where you stay.

The property was near restaurants and bars. The place was quiet and the staff were so kind and friendly. The only thing is the pool is small and no real bar on the roof top. However, you’re walking distance to most near by bars. Definitely recommend and would stay again in this hotel.

Terraza was a quaint place to stay. It was just what we were looking for! Housekeeping staff were so friendly. I recommend Terraza if you want simplicity and down to earth not a chain.
