"Hmmm ... it was a very nice hotel (in 1965). It has retained some of its characteristics from then until the 90s, but is now a little dated. Location is fine, but with nothing open around it (early May is not peak holiday season) it felt a little isolated. After a 6 hour motorcycle journey, Aviemore itself was just too far away so had to stay in. The evening meal at £25 each felt a bit steep, but the buffet meal was ok. "Lovely, comfortable cottage in a great location for a range of activities. Cosy for an October break but would be fantastic in warmer weather too. Our only small criticism was the night time temperature was set at 15 degrees and couldn’t be changed and while there was lots of cosy bedding we had a toddler who still wakes a couple of times in the night so it was a bit cold tending to him. Still a 5⭐️ break."

"Resort itself is very nice, nice easy walk to the Main Street. Staff were excellent, very friendly and courteous. Breakfast was really good, lots of choices. We stayed for 2 nights and there were only a couple of things that were a bit poor. 1. The fire alarm went off 3 times during our short stay, including once early morning. People lining the corridors not sure if it was a drill, or a fault. No explanation given. 2. Our room (2234) was a “Deluxe” room, but it did appear a bit run down....

"Fantastic host. Lots of helpful info for dining options and how things work on Skye. Great literature for hikes, maps, etc. ice, mini fridge, microwave and utensils in case you buy takeout. Great conversation with the owner and others at breakfast (which had a huge variety of options) about what else to see in Scotland. On site parking. Definitely would stay again. "
