Charming hotelPosted Nov 24, 2013
Pros: Looks charming
Cons: The paths to the rooms are slippery because the weather is humid but could be better.
Location: Near by is the city of Campeche and the Edzna arqueological site which is beautiful
It's very charming and romantic. The scenery is beautiful and you wake up to the birds singing. The staff is trying hard to make your stay memorable.

Extremely beautiful but jungle environment makes for a bad stayPosted Aug 13, 2011
This is an extremey beautiful and exclusive hotel but the tropical jungle which it is inside of makes for extreme dampness in the rooms and lots of bugs. Might of been the time of year but humidity was so great that bedsheets were damp and turning air conditioning on and off generated puddles on the floor! Lots of bugs as well. A scorpion strolling around the bath tub and wasp attacks in the swimming pool didn't help!

HaciendaPosted May 8, 2011
Is a great opportunuty to stay in a henequen (sisal) hacienda, it conbines some parts of the building not remodeled and not conditioned so one can see how demolished and abandoned it was when henequen business collapse. There is a fantastic, great, huge ceiba! so if you are interested in trees you are going to love it

Remote, but an authentically luxurious location with wonderful staffPosted Oct 18, 2010
I've stayed at some amazingly wonderful places across the globe and the Hacienda Uayamon is right up there with the best of them. It's not because it's a member of the Luxury Collection; without saying, it's a fine 'hotel' on that account; no, it's more because of the location and atmosphere - located 21kms inland from Campeche, it's a former landed estate that blends well renovated buildings with the impressive ruins of others; both of which give you a glimpse of its former grandeur. The hotel staff were always polite, responsive, and genuinely interested to talk to you and share cultural and historic information. As for the Uayamon Restaurant, the cuisine was exceptional! We cancelled some of our plans just so that we could relax and enjoy and photograph the place. Mosquitoes were no problem although a large spider that managed to find refuge under our camera bags gave me a start! We had two wonderful nights there, but we plan on returning and spending many more!

The temple of luxuryPosted Aug 13, 2008
This hotel is absolutely amazing. It is established in an old hacienda, in the middle of the mexican countryside. They have settled the restaurant and the administration in the main building, and the rooms are in the former employee's little houses (only 12!)in the park, thus providing the clients a lot of intimacy. Although they have chosen to keep the ancient look of the exterior walls of all the buildings without renovating them too much, thus keeping this beautiful 'old hacienda look', the interior is absolutely all contemporanean luxury : our room (or our mini house!) was gorgeous with beautiful furniture and decoration, a magnificent bathroom with both a shower and a big stone bath tube, flowers everywhere...The hotel has also a spa, and cherry on the cake, the most beautiful swimming pool ever, placed in the main room of a house in ruins, in which they have kept its beautiful columns. Incredible!! In conclusion, I would say that this place associates charm and culture with the top in contemporean decor and hotel professionalism and service...while keeping your intimacy. My husband and I have traveled a lot, and we can say it is one of the best hotels we ever have visited in the world.

Im Vergleich zu den anderen Haciendas der Luxury Collection fanden wir Service, Personal und auch die Anlage schlechter. Der deutliche Preisunterschied ist nicht gerechtfertigt.

Ex-hacienda henequenera y ganaderaPosted Dec 7, 2017
