"Booked into this hotel well my wife needed to be close while I had an operation in Royal Stoke hospital. Add a number of setbacks with timing and the staff here were excellent at rearranging nights I couldn't compliment them more on how they looked after my wife while I was in hospital. Even to the extent that after the event when my son had accidentally parked his car in the car park not knowing that he needed to register it they were good enough to resind the parking fine. The room was very clean & very comfortable the only downside was at breakfast, if was a buffet breakfast (help yourself) they had everything you could desire but the food was either Luke warm or cold & a full English should be piping hot. "If you can look past the area that the 'George Hotel' is in then you have a beautiful old building with a very interesting history behind it. Yes the property could do with some investment and renovation, but the building inside was clean and the rooms were clean. The staff were all very friendly. 2 Families stay together for trip to Alton Towers
"2 families stayed whilst visiting Alton Towers. We couldn’t have stayed any closer, The Old Barn literally on the doorstep. The property have a very homely feel which made relaxing easy. There was plenty of room for the 12 of us. We could even all sit together around the large table in the kitchen to eat together. Beds were very comfortable and the location was quiet. The only noise at night was our bed which creaked really loudly every time me or my husband moved dispute that we slept very well. Communication from Sarah the owner was excellent. If we go back to the theme park I would definitely stay there again. "
