“I cannot see why anyone would choose a chain hotel if a room at the Grande Magnolia is available. Our weekend in Benson, NC was exceptional due in large part to staying at the Grande Magnolia. When we arrived we were greeted at the door by a man who knew us by name. We were shown to our room and given a one on one explanation of some of the features and history of the hotel. We walked to the historic downtown area and when we returned we were greeted by Ms. Nancy, the owner. Her passion for the……

“As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, I said, no way and left.I did not even stay”

“It's a dump. The AC unit in my room rattled constantly and when I asked for a new room the person at the front desk was not shy about letting me know it was an inconvenience for her.”

“when I checked in I initially noticed the cleanliness of the room wasn’t up to par. The duvet had burns in them and the fitted sheet was dirty. Also to add insult to injury none of the outlets out of the 6-7 in the room worked..the only outlet that worked was the one under the television. It says the proper was renovated but I beg to differ. I didn’t say anything last night because we had drove a long way already to it would’ve been a huge inconvenience to switch rooms.”

“The room appeared clean. The shower had no caulk around the tub. There was no coffee pot in the room. The curtains were torn. A little TLC would have gone a long way. The decaf coffee was very tasty in the lobby. The front desk attendent was nice and helpful.”

“I was a little worried when I saw that there were smoking rooms available but our stay was very pleasant and it was clear that no one had ever smoked in our non-smoking room so I was very happy overall! The staff were nice and helpful as well! I would certainly stay again and recommend to anyone looking for clean and affordable accommodations!”
