Sapporo Prince Hotel

Sapporo Prince Hotel

8/10 Good
"Included breakfast was great. The food was fresh and healthy, and much of it sourced locally. The hot spring was clean but spartan, even though it cost 1000yen per day. (They don't even offer disposable razors.) The fitness center was a joke for a daily 2000yen fee. (No water the first day; I used the one remaining wipe to clean my equipment; the high-tech treadmill went kaput twenty minutes into my power walk and someone was using the only other one, so my workout was abruptly ended.) Staff were friendly and kind."

"This hotel is very centrally located and has the perfect views of Sapporo Tower. The rooftop terrace was a highlight of our trip and we were lucky to go when the weather was nice so we could enjoy roasting marshmallows while enjoying the view. For those guests wishing to use the laundry facilities - there are only two washing/drying machines on the property and they do not take IC cards as form of payment. Be prepared that you might have to wait to wash your clothes. For food options there are many - our favorite was next door at Le Trois - Donguri Bakery. For transportation this hotel is the best - literally right by Odori Station. There are multiple entrance options to the subway right by the hotel entrance, Staff were very helpful and the Canvas Lounge is one of the best social areas I have been to. We would love to come back again someday!"

Sapporo Grand Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"Location is excellent. Rooms are well equipped but slightly cramped with a total of 3 chairs, small coffee table and the desk. Bed was wonderfully comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic: choice of two restaurants - buffet and Japanese set. Tried both, and enjoyed both. There isn’t a gym or Onsen (which I knew). Unfortunately, the two rooms opposite me were inconsiderate and kept their doors on the latch, going in and out, and talking loudly. This happened two nights running. I called reception, and they sent someone to speak to me, and then to the rooms opposite. Unfortunately this was short lived and they continued to be noisy until 1am. Not the fault of the hotel but they should have checked in and patrolled the corridor."
