"Check-in was a bit slow but the reptesentative was new and i had a small dog with me. She did a great job. Bed very comfy. Room and bathroom were clean. There was a dog relief area with disposal bags which was much appreciated. Breakfast was great. I would definately stay here again."

"Checkin was quick and easy. Staff was friendly. We brought our dog and was only $15 for her for one night. Wish they had more food options but other than that we enjoyed our stay. "

"The hotel and staff were wonderful. The only down side was the chemical smell in the pool room. Kids were having trouble breathing so we didn't use the pool. Disappointing because the indoor pool was the reason we chose this hotel."

"I stayed for 6 days in April, staying in a traditional room with two double beds, and then a deluxe two queen room. The traditional room was just fine! The walls are super thin, so it is essentially like camping but in a cabin rather than a tent. No data service or wifi, but that is not what I care about in the middle of a national park! Clean rooms, wonderful people.
There is a huge jump in amenities from the traditional to the deluxe. The deluxe room had vaulted ceilings with a ceiling fan, a deck with a mountain view, a mini fridge, and a...... tv! I did not turn on the tv the entire time after appreciating the lack of technology from the first setting. If I come back I will definitely book the deluxe if I am not camping.
The lodge has a Starbucks, a restaurant, and a taproom. Super comfortable and warm place to stay. I highly recommend it!
Also, there are multiple trailheads right on the property itself. My first night after checking in around 7:30 I walked to the Black Rock trailhead, and within 5 minutes I was sitting on a rock overlooking the blue ridge mountains, watching the sun set. Magical.
Plus, they are pup friendly! My dog was able to come into the lodge with me, and order takeout from the taproom. When the weather changed and got warmer, he sat with me on the patio of the restaurant for dinner and another magical sunset."
