Great stayPosted Dec 3, 2013
Enjoyed the location of this resort, close to 5th ave. Staff was friendly and helpful, entertainment was good. Food was not terrible but not very enjoyable. Our room was great and very comfortable, housekeepers were great and did a very good job. We had construction in the room beside ours which was not pleasant if wishing to have a short power nap. Also getting woke up at 7am by banging hammers was not enjoyable but it did not ruin our stay as we were understanding renovations were underway before we booked our stay. I would recommend for couples and a relaxing stay, great quality for price paid.

Great value for your dollarPosted Nov 18, 2013
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. The beach was fantastic and only steps from the pool area. There were some room renovations going on in the hotel which did make a little noise but for me I didn't mind. It shows they are improving the property.

Run downPosted Nov 10, 2013
This hotel and resort is very run down. The service is poor. The food is average in the buffet and poor in the restaurants. There was construction going on the entire time we stayed here. The entertainment was third rate. I would only rate this place as a two star at beat. Pete

Clean, Comfortable, Convenient and CheapPosted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: Economical, small size, great location and there is some great snorkeling on the reef just straight off the beach from the hotel. Bring a life jacket.
Cons: More insulation between the walls, the food gets a little monotonous, and quiet hours are needed
Location: No taxi needed to get to shopping on 5th avenue, snorkeling right off the beach if you are comfortable swimming out to the reef.
We just spent 8 nights 10/28/13 thru 11/5/2013. This is our second time staying at The Reef Cocoa Beach. The reasons we came back: we enjoy the location (easy walk to 5th Avenue--from the resort, all the way to the other end of 5th avenue and back it's a 4 mile round trip walk--or if you prefer the taxi it's $5-$7 one way depending on who you get); it's a smaller resort so they're aren't a ton a people; the beach is nice, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is decent. What we don't like: the walls of the rooms are thin, so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs and white noise to drown out the noise of doors slamming, toilet's flushing, loud talkers, etc. We don't remember it being so rowdy our first stay, but this time we had several incidences of loud, disrespectful neighbors partying, fighting or just being loud until after 4:00 a.m. and some nights people partying in the pool courtyard until after 3 a.m. and hotel staff made no effort to shut them down, though they told us they received a lot of complaints of the noise.

RELAXINGPosted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: The pool was right outside our room and the beach was very clean and cozy. The spa was amazing the staff was wonderful and gave an excellent message.
Cons: the swim up bar was not very accommodating the limited staff mostly stayed on the upper part of the bar and only came down when you could get their at
Location: The location was good taking about a mile or 2 to town easy to get a taxi and close to the parks and all activates
This was the first time we stayed at a smaller hotel and it was very nice, we had a room on the bottom floor close to the pool and the beach. There was construction going on that didn’t really bother us it seems October is the time of year most hotels do a lot of construction work. The shows night entertainment was very nice. The spa was amazing we had the couples message the day we left just to relax for the way home the price was good and it was supposed to be 50 minutes it lasted about 80 minutes and everyone I had talked to said the time also went over for them. The message was the best I have ever had it was absolutely amazing. The food was good they had a great selection of fruits vegetables and meats and it is always entertaining to see how other cultures pre-pair food, Over all it was a nice place to stay.

Decided to Check out Playa del CarmenPosted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: The girl that ran the awful kids club
Cons: Everything but especially the staffs attitudes!! My vacation started off terrible because of the lack of relaxation I got here from all the noise!
Location: Nothing…I did walk quite a few blocks and seen stores.
Walked into a deserted lobby. I wasnt even sure if it was open. Room wasnt god awful for the price. Food was OK, nothing grand. The staff is just awful! No smiles, no service in the restaurant or by poolside! I can say the tip money I brought I got to save and use in Cancun the following weekS. I had decided to go to Playa for several days as we had never been and wanted to see if it was a place we would visit on our frequent trips to Mexico. Well bad choice on the hotel because this one makes me say NO WAY will I go back if this is the service we get. Not only that how is someone supposed to be relaxing at the pool area when there is construction all in FRONT of you. Banging chiseling all kinds of a crazy mess along with the sanding of the decks right behind your chairs at the pool. REALLY?? The only person I will say was pleasant was the lady that did what they called a kids clubs, which by the way was a JOKE! It was a few chairs and a table set up in front of the entertainment group of which there was NOTHING going on all 5 days I sat there with the exception of me seeing aerobics once in the pool and a game of water volley ball initiated by the guests. Oh lets not forget one time out of the 5 days they walked around and played a lazy game, which was you answered how old such and such is. That was it!! Awful, I was BORED and I wasnt even wanting to do anything but relaxing and comfort was not happening either! They owe my daughter and I a vacation!!

Very nice hotel for a group.Posted Oct 29, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff, fast check in , elevators, location, food, drinks, shows, pool
Cons: opening hours of disco and bar. Slippery tiles outside the disco bar expensive wifi/internet
Location: very close to 5th avenue
I took a group and stayed here for three days. It was raining most of the time but we still had fun. the staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It took me 10 minutes to walk to 5th avenue ( i timed it because others were saying half hour). I go up twice a year and have stayed at different all inclusive. This one is smaller than some of the others in the area, but the service was very good; I'm very outgoing and easily engaged in conversation with most of the staff. The food here is better than other places and we didn't need to reserve to eat at the italian or mexican restaurant. the discobar and all other areas for food and drink closed at 2:00am, so no late night drinks or food (some places have 24hour snack bar). Also, there were several people who slipped and fell hard because of the tiles on the floor oustide of the restaurant and disco bar. Very slippery tiles and it rained the three days. The caution signs were out but still, people fell. Overall, it is a very nice place, great location.

Missing Grand Coco Bay!Posted Oct 6, 2013
We have stayed here many times when it was Grand Coco Bay. Never once did we have a bad time or feel unwelcome until this year. Sad to see so many new faces with no smiles. It's under construction but we didn't mind that at all. It appeared they had cut back on their staff leaving those working very stressed. I don't care how pretty you make it if your employees are not happy neither are your guest. It was the kindness that kept us coming back.
