"Very good stay"
Very nice hotel on a very popular street in downtown Charleston. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the lobby was very grand. The room was clean and nice. Lots of space. ONLY complaint is that it's not closer to most of the restaurants and tour sites in town, but if you can walk approx. a mile each way, then there is no problem.

"Lovely and friendly!"
We stayed at the Harbour View Inn in November, 2016. It was a little tricky finding how to leave the car (just pull up to the curb where it says "No Parking"), but the entire crew of valets was so friendly and helpful I wanted to adopt them all as my sons. The front desk staff was equally happy to help, and outlined for us a simply dizzying array of restorative nibbles: hot tea and coffee pretty much always available; wine and cheese in the afternoon, milk and cookies (and M&Ms in a generous dispenser!) from 9 to 10 pm, a full breakfast bar in the morning for your sleepy perusal. In fact, the second day we stayed, we opted to forego the order-the-night-before breakfast to be delivered by staff to the room because it was easier to snag what we wanted when we wanted from the ample buffet in the lobby outside our door. The hotel room was large - the kind of large that people from the crowded northeast find hard to believe. The four-poster beds were deep and welcoming, with so many pillows that you can throw a few on the floor in the middle of the night and never miss them. The bathroom is large and attractive; it's got a too-small-to-soak bathtub, but it's hard to blame the hotel management for that; everything else is top notch. The only suggestion I have is that I wish they kept their urn of "hot" water actually hot. I'm a hot tea drinker, and you just can't brew a decent cup in lukewarm water.

"Modern hotel in classic clothing"
Everything is well thought out in this sleek, tasteful hotel, from the coffee and pastry tables in each hallway to the way our baggage was pre-loaded in the car. They have a handle on what pleases people and they do it with ease. The restaurant is world class. My wife and I have traveled widely and recognize excellence. I could happily spend the rest of my life at the Market Pavilion Hotel.

"All great but..."
We went down to the lobby to get a coffee but there was none. We had to wait until 7:00 and go next door and buy it from the hotel coffee bar??? They offer breakfast and coffee in your room if you knew to fill out the form before you went to sleep, we did not. Anyway, very nice place!

"Great location"
This hotel offers a great location to walk the downtown Charleston area. You are directly across the street from the horse and buggy ride, which is a must. A one block walk to the market and in very close walking distance to many fabulous restaurants. The hotel offers a very nice breakfast on the terrace of the 4th floor. They also offer a very nice wine and cheese happy hour from 4 to 5 on the terrace. The terrace is open all day for your pleasure. The women working the breakfast and happy hour and the maid staff were total South Charm and hospitality. The front desk could take a page out of their book.. The only problem we had was with the key cards to the room. For some reason they kept losing their activation. Three times I had to return to the front desk once on the 4th floor to have the card reactivated. Expedia said valet parking was $20 it was $25 and room prices did not match by $30 difference at check out. This has happened to me before with Expedia. Prices even in writing were different.

"Charming hotel near Waterfront Park"
Hotel was charming with great service. Totally enjoyed our 4 night stay over Thanksgiving. Our interior Room at 26Vendue had an exposed brick wall and was very spacious. The Drawing Room, Press Cafe, and cool Rooftop Bar (actually on 2 levels) covered all in-house dining options beautifully. Reccommend using the valet service (additional) as it was so convenient and parking in area can be difficult. We were able to see so much just walking in Historic District - lovely grand homes, historical buildings, parks and restaurants, and also enjoyed day trips to plantations and beaches. Highly recommend this hotel!

"Beautiful hotel in a great location"
A large group of us booked the hotel for a girls weekend that required renting three rooms. The hotel did their best to make sure our rooms were close to each other. The hotel is so beautiful, the rooms are very clean. Exquisite linens on the comfortable beds made for great sleep! The bathrooms are spacious and luxurious. We found the staff to be professional and friendly, they really couldn't do enough for us. The location cannot be beat, walking distance to great shopping and restaurants. Needless to say, we enjoyed the weekend so much we all decided we are returning to Charleston next year and staying at the Spectator!
