Very nice hotel with lots of character. Beautiful outdoor spaces with courtyard and rooftop deck Friendly and accomodating staff. Centrally located to tons of great restaurants and the waterfront. Very easy walk to everything. Enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

"Lovely and lively hotel in the heart of Charleston"
Hotel had been redecorated since our last visit. It was beautiful. The Palmetto cafe is very open, bright and cheery. The staff were ALL on the same level as a Ritz Carlton in friendliness and helpfulness. Our only complaint was with housekeeping on Sunday. They were in our room cleaning at 5:30 just as we returned after a long day of sightseeing. We were ready for showers and a rest but had to wait. Also, the bathroom amenities were not complete either day we were there. Otherwise, it was a perfect stay for us. We would definitely return to the Charleston Place.

They were receptive to all our needs. The location right by the market is fantastic. I saw some complaints about no kitchen or gym. they actually bring you a continental breakfast thing every morning so you can get breakfast there and truly there are a myriad of restaurants around there within a couple hundred yards. You won't go hungry. As far as the Gym concerns if you are in Charleston you should be planning on walking a bit. You will get your cardio in when you're there.
The staff was fantastic. Cody Michael and our maid Ann were very accommodating and did whatever we asked.
If you were looking for a nice place to stay during your visit to Charleston I would highly recommend it.

Had a wonderful stay. Weather was great- rooftop terrace set up beautifully. Room was upgraded free of charge and was beautiful. Super High ceiling, exposed brick wall, clean and comfortable. Wine and Cheese reception was a nice touch everyday- included wine, cheese, crackers, quiche and more. Fresh teas and coffee and baked cookies available all day everyday. Breakfast everyday- waffle maker, pasteries, oatmeal, fresh fruit, bagels, muffins and more. Great location we were able to walk everywhere we wanted comfortably. Would definitely stay again. It was built in 1900 and has a very historic feel- Staff was friendly.

Nice location, close to many restaurants and shopping. Very comfortable room, nice staff. Construction noise in the back is for real. Get the ear plugs if you plan to sleep past 7am. Recommend front rooms if you want quiet, but rear rooms had better views of the bridge and the water. Very close to the free shuttle in town. Parking is expensive but this is the same across Charleston.
