“I travel to Townsend a couple of times a year to visit GSMNP and have stayed at numerous hotels in that area. This was my first time at The Parkman. Property was clean and staff were efficient. My only complaint was that my room did not have a mini-fridge and microwave. The property is undergoing some renovations and I hope they add mini-fridges and microwaves to all their rooms. The restaurant next door is also under renovation so there is no breakfast offering at the current time.”

“We really enjoyed the access to the gas grill and pavillion. We were able to spend valuable family together. We gathered supplies at the local IGA grocery and prepared supper while the kiddo swam in the pool. The lodge is very close to Cades Cove and we were glad to spend time there as well.”

“The room was clean and check in instructions were easy to follow. Breakfast was delicious each day. Parking was fine but sometimes not enough space to park at the end of the day. Not too much they can do about that. The only thing that was lacking was not enough utensils/plates/bowls etc in the room. The view was amazing and the property provided a great deal of privacy. I would definitely recommmend this location and stay here again.”

“We stay in this hotel every year and we like it for the location, price, room configuration, two bathrooms, and shower water pressure. It's never been really clean and good smelling, but we overlook it for the above reasons. This year the stay was just terrible. The hallway and our room smelled like wet dog. The shower curtain rod in one bathroom was broken so we all had to shower in the same bathroom. Both sink drains were messed up. There was construction happening, so drilling and……

“Elevator out. Pool was closed. Room smelled musty and moldy. Carpet was gross (musty/moldy). There was no hot water. Visible mold throughout. No real lighting in the room. Breakfast was a continental with the option to microwave pancakes. They did give us another room after they saw all the issues. The new room was much better but still had visible mold and the toilet did not work well (running). This place needs to be closed for a full renovation.”

“The hotel was in a good location to other tourist activities, though the hotel was in a poor state of repair, the elevator was not working for my case, going to the 6th floor with kids and luggage. The bathtub was blocked had to spend the night without a bath till the next day at 4 pm its when it was being repaired. Breakfast: there was no milk or juice for the kids, only coffee.”

“Picturesque little valley campsite, right by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (and Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge tourist options). Clean and cozy tent cabins, wonderful staff that were very friendly and welcoming. We had a great time, it was the perfect home base to explore the Smokies and get outdoors and unplug.”

“We had a clogged toilet and when I spoke to the front desk, the lady gave me a plunger to open it myself. She told me that she would try to find someone if I was unable to get it fixed. The pool is in the parking lot and there is a lot of wasps at in the parking lot.”

“The room was very clean. We enjoyed the lazy river, both indoor and outdoor pools, and the hot tubs. The hot breakfast was delicious and I really enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back to stay here again.”
