My experience was very disappointing. There were roaches in the dining area. While my wife, another couple, and I were eating, roaches were coming out of the table. When we told the staff, they said they already knew about the problem. I also found a dead roach in my bed, which was very upsetting. The dresser had a broken strap hanging off. The entry door to the bathroom door handle was on backwards. I had to put it on the right way. The service was poor from check-in to check-out. They pick and choose which guest to offer the trolly belhop service to. I had to carry my wife’s and I baggage to our room upon arrival. Most of the staff seemed to have a bad attitude, and we did not feel welcome at all. As someone who works in hotel management and travels often, this was the first time I felt this uncomfortable at a hotel. The property itself is run down and needs a lot of improvement, both in maintenance and customer service. There is also very little to do nearby, and the restaurants recommended by the hotel are about 30 minutes away. The only positive part of our stay was Lydia, who was friendly and introduced herself. Overall, I suggest paying extra to stay somewhere else. I would visit St. Croix again, but not this hotel. The ladies at the front desk were excellent!!! The value staying here is excellent. The food, if you can get some is excellent!!! The reason I said if you can get some is because the service at the bar and restaurant is atrocious. I understand island time. But being completely ignored is unacceptable. My wife and I sat at the bar for thirty minutes while three people working there just talked to each other and never once asked if we would like a drink or something to eat. The first night we ate there it took forever to get service, drinks or food. The meal was excellent though. So we tried again and that is when we sat for 30 minutes. We left and went to a restaurant. We didn’t eat at the resort again. I would absolutely recommend staying here. Just plan on eating out. I loved the property and our room was nice. There pools were great. The seaweed did not bother us at all. I was disappointed to learn that there was no hot tub anymore and I was expecting very warm weather our entire trip, but there were cooler days that would have been a great time for a hot tub. The worst part about our stay was that the staff specifically at the restaurant and one of the bartenders were very unfriendly and acted like it was a nuisance when we asked for anything. They would talk back, roll their eyes, and had lore with ethic. This wasn’t just at the Margaritaville, but we noticed this throughout the island that the customer service was very subpar. The people who worked at the guest services and tourist excursions at the Margaritaville were amazing, however! Over all that we had an amazing vacation and a memorable time with our family! The staff at the front desk was absolutely not helpful whatsoever!! It was almost like we were bothering them to ask for toilet paper, clean towels, etc., as our room was not serviced for days, leaving us with no toilet paper, clean towels or tissues. Front desk advised housekeeping was done for the day! Room was nice and big, but we had tiny little ants all over the place and couldn’t even enjoy it. Ran out of coffee in the room, saw housekeeping in the hallway and asked for some, she advised resort had run out of coffee for the coffee machines in the room and that there would be none for a few days. Website stated that there were 3 eating facilities, Italian, beach bar grill and buffet. Italian was closed permanently. Buffet was disgusting. One night it was tacos and nothing else. It is supposed to be open from 6-9, however if we went to dinner at 8 there was nothing left and when someone asked, the staff said “ well we close at 9”! The beach bar grill was ok, but just fast foods and very few items on the menu and we got sick of eating the same things for 7 days. The pool was filthy and there were little bugs swimming on the bottom of the pool. Hot tub was a COLD tub. The beach was very rocky, to the point you couldn’t go in it without hurting yourself and there was a ton of seaweed, which needed to be cleaned off the beach. Bartenders, Greg, Bethany, Luisa were awesome. Shout out for a job well done to Lalo!!!" If you want to be near the beach pick one of the many resort hotels. When they say they have parking it is street parking but there was usually a spot not too far from the hotel. Street is very crowded so if you drive make sure you’re comfortable on small streets and parallel parking etc. The breakfast was either pancakes bacon or sausage or eggs your way toast and sausage or bacon. My kids were 3 am 5 and enjoyed The very small pool. I wished o has picked a more resort hotel for our trip but this place was good enough and staff were friendly too.
