“clean room. Dog friendly - gave us a room at the end of the hall for quicker access to outside for walks.”

“Rooms were clean, but the property is a bit run-down. Twice I had to deal with a younger man at the front desk who was very rude, very unpleasant. He should not be working guest services.”

“Everything was wonderful - friendly helpful staff and great breakfast - the only downside was we unfortunately weren't able to use the pool due to a broken heater it was a cool 68° and too cold to enjoy. Other than that, great 1-night stay!”

“Our room appeared clean until I went into bathroom and found hair on the vanity, so I cleaned it myself. As I was getting into the shower I grabbed the floormat and it was soaked and again had hair on it. I had called the desk for extra pillows and when she came I had showed her the bathroom and bathmat she offered to bring me a new and that was all! No care if our room was actually cleaned! Will not recommend!”

“The view of the Allegany River is breathtaking and the rooms are spacious and clean. The decor makes it feel like home rather than a hotel room. The "take and go" breakfast has a very limited selection. However, the room and the other amenities by far outweigh the limited breakfast. We will definitely stay here again!”

“This historic cottage on the oldest golf course in the United States was a gem of a find. The inside was beautifully decorated but with a modern update including the kitchen with all the conveniences. Everything we needed was there. We loved sitting on the porch in the lovely wooden rockers and watching the hummingbirds at the feeders and other birds and wildlife as well as golfers on the course. The host was very responsive to messages. We would highly recommend a stay at Tarry Moore……

“I was looking to get away by myself and this was the perfect location to do that. It snowed which made it that much more beautiful. The house was very clean and comfy. I vegged for 3 days, watched TV and pretty much decompressed. The bed was amazingly comfortable, and I am always looking for a good night sleep. I would definitely return and maybe it will be during warmer weather this time. Thank you for sharing this wonderful gem!!!!”

“I wish I could give this cottage 10 stars! Very clean and cozy with many added touches that made it feel like home. The hosts were so gracious and kind, and the cottage was one of the highlights of our stay. All of our activities were within a close driving distance, and the cottage was quiet in the evenings for a relaxing night after a day packed full of fun. The beds were extremely comfy, and the hosts even provided snacks and coffee. We’re booking this cottage any time we stay in the area -……

“We had a fantastic weekend staying at the cabin. We caught fish in the pond, the walk around the pond was about a mile or so . Firepit was great , plenty of firewood. Great location . Friendly community . Would definitely stay again! ”

“My sister and I return to the River House every fall. The hosts, David & Betsy, are wonderful. A large rain storm came the day of our scheduled departure and we requested an extension to our reservation. They generously agreed and made the extra night complimentary. This year we saw four eagles fishing on the river. Emlenton is a cute, quiet town with everything a visitor needs. Great stay!!!”
