“My husband and I was celebrating our 56th anniversary, I had heard about Hotel Settles, watching a you tube channel about towns of Texas and their highlights. I thought the hotel was beautiful and I wanted to stay, the weather that particular weekend was not so great, but the hotel was wonderful. The staff was very welcoming and for dinner we were complimented with a dessert for our anniversary. The food was very good, we ate the chicken fried steak, it was very good. “They have made poor decisions on breakfast. Removed biscuits and gravy or eggs and bacon or sausage. McDonalds serves better. Removed second waffle machine. This causes backup with people waiting in line. There was no creamer only milk or half and half. They used to serve flavored creamer. They moved breakfast to 6:30 a.m and that causes a rush when people are heading out for their work. For example they had sausage or a crousant sandwich with ham. “I know what to reasonably expect for hotels at this price level and we are very disappointed. There is no amenity except one bar soap. There is a coffee maker but no coffee nor tea. The worst is the towels. They are very old. The we found the bed sheet has stain and the pillows smells. This is close to unacceptable.”

“Cabin was perfect! Quiet area, Warm inside when it was freezing temps outside ! Will be my first choice when I’m in the area ! Saved me hours of driving back n forth from home! ”
