“Clean room”

“A new building designed in the style of colonial era homes. Larry and Patricia were terrific hosts. Breakfast was made to order and amazing, including biscuits made according to Larry’s grandmother’s recipe. Comfy bed, plush towels. The dimmer switches for the lights are a great touch. Plenty of parking, nice large backyard with tons of birds. Remote location so it’s nice and quiet. Absolutely would stay here again! ”

“The bath room is tiny; both the shower and the sink”

“Overall my stay was OK. Upon arrival I was not able to check in on time because my room was not available due to hotel being reserved to capacity, which caused me to have a 1 hr delay in check in. The hotel receptionist (Urania)was somewhat pleasant however, made some remarks that my particular room wasn’t ready because I had to wait for a handicap room, I stated I did not book a handicap room. Then, she stated that since I booked via Expedia that, I have the cheapest room, so I had to wait for……

“Great stay for the price. Easy parking and access to the Visitors Center. About a 20 minute walk to the Historic area via a safe and well maintained path. The only thing missing is a true restaurant and/or bar onsite. Even a little food market with pre-made sandwiches, etc. would work well here I think. There is a continental breakfast but the line is very long (I went once). Rooms are spacious , clean, and quiet. This is my second time staying here and I’ll most likely return.”

“This was a great stopover on our way to the Outer Banks. The room was clean and the staff was nice. There were plenty of places to eat nearby. We'll stay here again for sure.”

“Maintenance: bathroom shower needs grouting, toilet seat needs tightening Pools: indoor closed for repair, no repairs evident during the 4 days we were there, outdoor pool was cold but usable on the hot days Evening staff excellent and very helpful, morning staff also helpful Breakfast: would have liked more variety for our extended stay”

“The European tapestries and decor was unique and the overall experience was excellent. I requested a champagne bottle be left in the room before I arrived and the staff had it ready! Great experience and I’ll be coming back.”

“Its a great place even if a little dated. We have stayed here before and liked it enough to stay again. There were a few things that were not the greatest like my son found a cough drop wrapped in the cover of his bed and the dresser had a huge hole in the second drawer. The room didn't have a screen door like the other rooms did so I was a little disappointed about that, it was one of my wife's favorite things about the place. Only had 2 towels for 4 people but they had no issues giving me more……
