It is an older hotel but clean and the staff are very accommodating Some things were not working like the pool was closed. The first room I had smelled of smoke but they were quick to change me to one that didn't smell. Parking was good and it was nice and close to every amenity. No air conditioning though but they did supply us with a very good fan. A bit noisy as the people overhead were pretty lead footed. Halls were noisy till quite late.

Beford Hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Had expected it may be run-down, but was very clean and had a nice "British" small hotel feel to it. Room was very nicely outfitted, quiet, and the location was ideal for strolling to see the major sights. Also very close to nice restaurants and adjacent to excellent tea and scone eatery.

Great waterfront venue, easy walking distance to many restaurants in the area. The front desk staff were outstanding, we had a few issues with multiple reservations but the staff generously upgraded us to the best suite in the hotel. What a great way to cap off our visit to the island!

We particularly liked that The Magnolia was close to most everything--tour buses to Butchart Gardens, The Empress for high tea, the harbor, The Royal BC Museum, the Parliament building, shopping and restaurants. The room was nice, the bed comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely gets an excellent recommendation from us.

In Victoria , if you want to be close to everything, the Capital City Center is is the areas BEST BARGAIN!! Close to the Empress Hotel , yet quiet at night. Rooftop bar and pool (heated) are a fun addition to your stay. Breakfast onsite was hot , delicious, and discounted to hotel guests. (.Felt safe at the hotel, however after dark, there seemed to be more homeless folks in the Empress/downtown area. Just something to be aware of for families with small children.) Weather and attractions were wonderful. Lots of shops within walking distance. Beds were comfortable and windows open to allow cool breezes into the room. All in all, a very pleasant stay.
