"The position of the hotel cannot be bettered being extremely close to the drop-off point of the X100 bus from the Airport, very close to Waverley Station, minutes from the Old Town, etc. It is a Grade 2 listed building which means that it has limitations on what it can do but it is comfortable and serves its purpose. Breakfast is ok without being outstanding; the rooms are ok without being outstanding. The staff are excellent and cannot do enough for their guest. Very expensive for what it...

"Definitely budget hotel - out of town but that was fine. Thought charging for parking £5 was a quick way of them making extra money. Hotel was very busy so it must be popular. I did sleep well on 2nd floor but when I opened blinds was overlooked by early morning meeting taking place next door!"

"Wonderful!!! Excellent location, very friendly staff. We did not eat at hotel however did have drinks in the lounge. Very nice selection of gin, great view of the castle and nice seating. Will definitely stay here again."

"Great location. Room was clean, but on the small side. Interesting bathroom, but was clean and worked fine. Staff was helpful. They stored bags for me until I could check in. There was a restaurant and bar. It looked ok, but I neither ate nor drank there, too many options near by. The lobby was pretty drab. The entrance was almost unnoticeable. Good value considering the location "

"The location was perfect for walking the city and night life. The shower was spacious and had very hot water. Plenty of outlets. Very nice customer service with baggage storage for before and after your stay. We were in the attached/second building and our room was very cold. The thermostat did not seem to work but the bed and room as a whole was very comfortable. "

"Great free breakfast. Close to airport with inexpensive shuttle. Convenient to Edinburgh by tram. We would stay again. The only complaint is that their are no USB ports in the room. "

"Best shower we had on the whole trip! I'd give it 5 stars just for that, but it's also right in the middle of the action on the royal mile, and seems to be competently run. One warning, though: It looks super close to the train station on the map, but there are a couple hundred stairs between here and there. Save yourself and pay £10 for a taxi, or at least take a bus.
