“We enjoyed our stay, would recommend signage for check in, not just restaurant. The Inn was clean, quiet, and filled our needs. We enjoyed the history of the building. We had dinner on the porch the lake view was spectacular and our server was fantastic. Very walkable.to town.”

“The room was very clean and in good condition. I would not stay here again, however. No microwave to heat up a cup of coffee, only one three-pronged outlet. A very small fan that made an unpleasant sound (no air conditioning - which is fine with me, but would have liked a better fan). “It was a real treat to stay at the Balsam Inn! The Inn is off the beaten path like I wanted and very very quite. Jenny is a warm welcoming host. She even upgraded my room just because it was available. The room itself was beautiful! It felt like I was a guest in someones Adirondack mountain home. “Check in was difficult with no internet on the property and no one at the motel office or available anywhere when we arrived at 4 pm. We later found the code for our room from the owners by driving for an internet connection in a nearby town. We were intimidated to return to the motel with no one there but did so and successfully accessed our room. The room was nicely appointed but we would have much preferred a welcome in person. “We loved the tent we stayed in. Heads up there is a hill and a good walk up it to get to the tents. We managed to make it work, but it is something to take note of.pack light! Haha The tent itself and fire pit was so great. We only had one night, so it was great to not have to set it up ourselves. The linens and cooking supplies were also super useful. We loved how quiet it was, and the property is gorgeous to walk around. We plan to check availability for a cabin next time. Highly recommend……

“The property had been cleaned and was in reasonably good condition. There was an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke that really detracted from the positives. This was surprising because it was listed as a nonsmoking property. If you don’t mind the smell of cigarettes, then this is an economical and convenient place to spend the night.”

“The property served our needs for a one night stay in Caroga Lake. Finding the place was a bit of a nightmare. We had no wireless service in the area and the host did not provide very good directions. As we had no cell phone service, we could not call the host. “The good: extremely clean and tidy The bad: there is no shelf in the shower so you have to keep shampoo etc on the floor and keep bending down to get it. You also need to throw out your own garbage- ridiculous. The ugly: smoke alarm malfunctioned in middle of night and was not on wall but hidden under coffee cart. So obviously it had been an issue previously and was never addressed. Woke me and my neighbor up and scared the crap out of me. Did not get back to sleep at all. They promised a refund……

“This was a nice place to stay for a brief, overnight stay. It was conveniently located in the heart of town and just a stone's throw away from the beautiful Long Lake. The room was a little basic but it did have a super refreshing shower. Would stay again because of the nice staff & convenience factor.”
