“We were a group of 8 men visiting on a golfing trip. It wax agreed that the quality of beer especially the Guinness was undrinkable. My drink also had to be returned I had also asked for 4 twin rooms but there was only 3 given and the other wad a double. Additionally there was only one bath towel in 2 of the rooms and no toilet brushes”

“We stayed here for a long weekend and stayed in room 7 (the snug) - it was a lovely hotel with nice amenities and decor etc. There were toiletries in the bathroom which is always handy and the room was cleaned each day. The staff were really helpful and we could leave our backpacks downstairs in the pub before check in and after check out. The pub downstairs was also lovely with great service and food. The area that the hotel is in is nice with good restaurants, takeaways and shops - everything……

“This is a treat for our anniversary and this place is unique in its own way. We arrived prior to check in time and left our luggage at the reception and enjoyed our glass of champagne. We were given tickets to visit the Royal Yacht Britannia which we enjoyed very much. As the Fingal is part of the business of the Britannia, Fingal gives a feeling of Royalty in an modernised Britannia. The breakfast was a surprise in its top quality and variety of choices and the service is excellent! We shall……

“The property is situated near North Berwick and has beautiful gardens. The building itself is a bit tired. Our room was disappointing for the grade of hotel. Coffee facilities were basis (one packet of two pieces of shortbread to share!). The cooked breakfast was lovely but the continental selection was very poor compared to similar hotels and given that one of the main selling points of the hotel is the Chez Roux restaurant. Cleanliness not what we would have expected either - some litter……
