“We were a Red Hat Ladies group of 5 women of a “certain age” who came to Schulenberg to see the Painted Churches. The house was the perfect place for us to stay since it is located just a short distance from the Chamber of Commerce where the tour started! “Way off the beaten path, this small, cozy cabin was exactly the relaxing and private getaway I was looking for. I hiked at Beuscher State Park on my way in, but didn't go back since I was able to walk the 22 acres on the property, with little trails and trees everywhere, it was great. The owners live on the property as well, but I never saw them, giving me plenty of privacy. The chickens and three goats were fun to have around, but they left me alone if I ignored them.”
