    United Kingdom Hotel Travel Guide

The United Kingdom offers an enormous variety of things to do and see. Combining rail or bus passes with cheap hotel deals in the United Kingdom can save money. Hotels in the United Kingdom range from luxury chains to quaint historic properties and simple budget options, and a special discount may be available for traveling in the off-season.

Visitors to Scotland will want to explore the historic city of Edinburgh with its medieval Old Town and 18th-century New Town. To the north, the Scottish Highlands offer stunning scenery to visitors. Off the northern coast lie a number of remote islands notable for their stark beauty.

Lovers of nature won’t want to miss the largest national park in England, the Lake District. The southern part of England includes the wild moors and coastlines of Devon and Cornwall as well as the beaches of resort towns.

A cheap United Kingdom hotel deal will make it possible to stay longer in the capital city of London where visitors can see such iconic sights as Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, and Big Ben. Throughout the United Kingdom, public museums are free, and London's National Gallery and the British Museum are among those worth a visit.

Notable parts of Wales include the capital city of Cardiff, the well-preserved medieval town of Conwy, and Hay-on-Wye, which is famous for its dozens of bookstores and yearly literary festival. Snowdonia National Park is a beautiful and popular destination for outdoors enthusiasts. Ferries from both Wales and Scotland will take visitors across the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland has largely put the troubles behind it, and today, Belfast offers a number of tours that focus on the city’s turbulent history. The Titanic Experience, site of the luxury site's doomed launch, offers visitors a number of interactive experiences. North of Belfast, the Giant's Causeway looks like an alien landscape, and legend claims its unusual basalt columns were created by the Irish giant Finn MacCool.

United Kingdom hotel deals will stretch the travel dollars further, and some United Kingdom hotel packages may include perks such as restaurants or theater tickets. Much of the region enjoys a fairly mild climate year round, and traveling during the winter may mean lower prices in United Kingdom hotels. To find top savings and the best rates, search for rooms and book reservations as early as possible.

    "Excellent for travelers"
The hotel is very modern, comfortable and nicely designed. Absolutely the best thing is that is literally half a block from Paddington station, from which you can get direct to and from Heathrow, not to mention to the Circle and District LInes. It is also right next to some fine eateries - just across the street from a wonderful Middle Eastern place, Ya Hala. Also some good pubs.

    "Absolutely fantastic location"
Location, location and location. Spitting distance from Trafalgar Square, close to two underground stations. Bus stop in front of hotel. Free laundrette is great for extended stays (where do you find that in hotels anymore). Really posh and well done lobby and lounge. There are two Pret a Mangers close by, a Cafe Nero downstairs and several great other cafes restaurants within 3 minutes walk. I have stayed in London many many times on both business & pleasure mostly at large chain hotels (4 or 5 star) and find The Grand at Trafalgar a better value for money.

    "Good Location but dated"
Located just across from Waverley station, the hotel is conveniently half way between the Castle and Holyrood Palace. The room was nice, but with no AC, the warm August day turned the room into an oven.

    "Wonderful view, and perfect location!"
The view of Edinburgh Castle was fantastic, and the room included a balcony with table and chairs. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was scrupulously clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Each night about 10: 45 p.m. we could see the spectacular fireworks set off in the Edinburgh Castle stadium at the end of their Royal Tattoo show - AWESOME. All these wonderful attributes made up for the very small room (very little floor space with no room to store a suitcase - very small closet had no room for a suitcase, either). The bathtub was deep, steep and had no grab bar - a safety issue. Overall, though, we loved our experience!
