“Clean room, mini fridge and microwave, and reasonable choices for breakfast. Close proximity to local stores and restaurants, and a good spot to stay if you mean to explore the New River Gorge area. “We really enjoyed the cabin we stayed in and the beautiful views that the property provided.
However, we went to go get coffee on the morning of our checkout and we came back to the cleaning staff already in our cabin whenever we still had an hour left to checkout. So we felt like we were being pushed out whenever we were looking forward to coming back to drink our coffee on the back porch for the last hour of our stay. “This facility is definitely not up to normal DoubleTree standards that I am accustomed to. The building is somewhat run down, no breakfast was included, king size room was extremely small, the TV only had local channels. When I booked the room it stated cable TV and breakfast. “Most importantly, the cleanliness of the room and the staff were absolutely excellent. We stayed in the Hawthorn North Suite.
Room: I would have enjoyed a firmer mattress. My wife had no complaints, but I had to place a pillow under my legs for back comfort. The soaking tub was quite nice; however, only one person could fit in the tub and there were no built-in water or air jets.
