“A true budget hotel! This place has all the most important parts: a strong cold AC, comfy bed, a working tv, and close to NOLA. After looking around the room, it is clean enough for my liking (of course more spot cleaning could be done) and I can say that I did not find any bugs of any sort. The front staff was EXTREMELY NICE, I wish I would have caught the name of the gentlemen that checked me in (I believe one was the boss and one was new). My only warning would be that I felt slightly nervous……

“The staff at The Royal can't be beat. I love the old feel of the hotel it made having to walk up the flights of stairs to your room worth it. The courtyard is absolutely stunning!”

“The power was out for over 6 hours. There was zero a/c (July heat!), lighting, elevator to the 12th floor, nor running water (including non working toilets). When the electricity came back on at 6am, there was no hot water until checkout which was at noon. The hotel offered zero communication, zero discount, zero living for the stairs, nothing…”

“The hotel was extremely convenient to the cruise port with the best price hands down!! It was very clean. Valet parking was easy. Staff was friendly and helpful. It seemed to be a safe area, within walking distance of several restaurants and downtown tourist areas and attractions. The downsides were only 1 operating elevator and it wasn’t in the best condition and difficult to operate using your room key. The shower head in the bathroom was in disrepair and didn’t have great water pressure.……

“Everything in the room was just as advertised. We didn’t end up having breakfast there but we did have drinks at the restaurant downstairs a couple of times. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely would stay again. Shoutout to Mignon at the front desk.”
