Views to take your breath away!Posted Nov 24, 2015
Pros: Proximity to beautiful beaches (10 minute walk along the coast), the cleanliness and views of the ocean from our room.
Cons: Phone in the room so that guests can call down to ask for what they need. Also, get normal pillows - they were SO HIGH that we couldn't use them.
Location: It was quiet and out of the night time fray. Could easily walk to beaches, shops and other restaurants.
Our room was on the eastern side of the hotel, which looked directly out to the ocean. Entering the room was breath-taking each and every time. Waking up in the morning to the unobstructed view of the ocean was dreamy. The hotel itself is undergoing a major renovation and the rooms were super clean but also a stripped down version of what you might be used to in an average hotel. Many amenities were "missing" from the room, such as: hair dryer, soap dish in shower or sink, phone in room to call for service...to name a few. If you're looking for frills, this is not the place for you. If you're all about the views and cleanliness, you'll be pleased.

Prefect locationPosted Nov 23, 2015
Location: The downtown area was about a 10min walk from the hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would recommend it to friends and family. You can't beat the location, it was just beautiful. We were a family of 4 and spent most of our time swimming, sun baking and eating.

Just OkayPosted Nov 22, 2015
Pros: The beach and water.
Cons: The resturant is sub standard. I chose to eat off site most of time. Service was also poor.
Location: Resturants close are Great!
For a hotel that is or is done with renovation this is POOR! There are many things not completed. No alarm/radio, no hair dryer, no gift shop to be found. Great A/C..... TV is 98% spanish for those that no hablar.

Stunning LocationPosted Nov 11, 2015
Pros: Great location, large sandy shallows, snorkeling from the beach, great rain-head shower and effective air conditioning unit and the hotel is clean.
Cons: Include a full length mirror in the bedroom + additional storage and a hotel safe. The hotel bathroom towels are small and rough and need replacing.
Location: Rent a golf cart for the day and see the whole island. Snorkel Garrafon De Castilla. See the cliffs at Punta Sur. Listen to live music at El Patio.
Location, location, location. Hotel has amazing water views on every side. Wide sandy shallows for floating, swimming, or playing. Plenty of sun beds/umbrellas/palapas on the beaches. You can enjoy fantastic sunset views from the the open decks, balconies, and restaurant. The hotel beach towels are large and soft. Food is buffet style including American and Mexican dishes. There is a fresh, cooked to order, meat or fish dish at every meal. Eat as much as you want. Downtown is only a short walk away with lots of shops and good restaurants. There is a swim up bar at the pool and a bar in the open lounge area with wonderful large lounging sofas. I read other earlier reviews about unfriendly staff but we found staff were very friendly in every interaction with us and with other guests around us. They are still renovating this hotel but we were not affected by the construction. All facilities were open to us and clean. The main renovation was not in the hotel but in the adjoining villas at the far end of the property. There are no OSHA or ADA building regulations so be aware some steps had differing heights or floors can be uneven. The pool has some steps under the water you cannot see clearly and there is nothing to hold onto to stop you falling. From the airport we used USA Transfers to take us to Puerto Juarez where we took the UltrMar jet ferry to Isla Mujeres. USA Transfers was on time with a clean van and courteous drivers. The jet ferry was air conditioned.

Private HotelPosted Nov 9, 2015
The hotel, food and staff was higher than average. The room lack functionality and our bathroom was too small. There is only WIFI in the lobby and we couldn't figure out how to adjust the air. Nice beach and atmosphere!

Location nicePosted Nov 8, 2015
This is my 2nd time here. I knew it wasn't 5 star, which is fine with me. But some elements are important. The room 'type' (a villa) was not available even though I specifically chose it several months in advance. Food is fair, elevators didn't work several times. They are remodeling which I understand, but style is not meeting function. No place in the shower for soap, shampoo, etc. no face wash clothes. It is a beautiful location, but the inconveniences were greater. The people were nice that worked there, but maybe not enough of them.

Beautiful location!Posted Nov 5, 2015
The hotel was under construction but it was still beautiful. The lady at the front desk, we called her "sunshine," was a total B. I would go to anyone other than her if I could. Other than her all the staff were excellent!
