"These cottages are a perfect pick if you plan on spending the day wine tasting. Very good value in the heart of Sonoma County. This is not a full-service hotel or resort, rather a collection of quaint single room cottages nestled together by the creek in Glen Ellen. There is ample room to enjoy sipping (yet more) wine either on your porch or at an outside area near the creek with comfortable chairs, etc. The cottages themselves are clean, comfy and have all the amentities you need to enjoy a few nights. One of the best things is the location. You can walk to great restuarants, a very nice grocery store (picnic?), Jack London Saloon (don't miss!) and of course more wine tasting! There are more posh choices, but this is our pick when wine is the focus. "
"LOVED my stay at the JLL! Took me back many years to the more intimate days of motels. I parked right outside my room rather than taking an elevator and dragging luggage down a long hallway. The room was updated nicesly--especially the bathroom (never seen such a long tub)--and it was spotless. I walked to the small market just beyond the corner in front of the Lodge. It was like a small Whole Foods store. I felt very safe here both inside and outside and that's very important to me! Highly recommended and I'll return if I get the chance. :-)"
