I was given Josh’s phone number and reached out to him to set up a check in time, he was very responsive and kind and was there to show me around at almost 11pm. The room was great, very comfortable bed, big bathroom, and breakfast was great as well. "

"So it took us an embarrassing amount of time to figure out where check in was. Hint, it’ll feel like you’re in the wrong place but you’re not. The staff at check in was helpful and efficient. I was taken aback at how beautiful the building and the views were. I imagine in its early days it was even more incredible. Vintage, high end ski lodge vibes. With the map we were provided at checkin we found our lodge/room relatively easily. I was disappointed our room didn’t have its own balcony, but it was rather a balcony for that floor/side. Some of the balconies had rotted wood, so that was a little unnerving. Our room was in the Blue Spruce Lodge, 2nd floor. The stairway and hallways were beautiful and unique- full of character and charm. We checked out the bar with live music in the evening. It was mostly middle age guys there on golf trips. Not exactly a happening nightlife scene but it made a beautiful spot to see the sunset across the hilly landscape. Our room was clean and comfortable. The lodge close to town. While it did have some quirks and could stand some updates, overall we really enjoyed our stay there. I prefer to stay somewhere with character, rather than a cookie cutter hotel. "

"The property was as shown in the pictures very cozy and an awesome back yard to enjoy a fire and stare gaze. The only down fall was the shower, it felt like i was taking a bird bath no pressure from the nozzle which made me disappointed and also Higgins Lake was Not a 2 min walk more like a 15min drive but its close enough from the cabin to enjoy the lake and scenery. The kitchen was big and had everything you needed overall I'd like to return if shower head was replaced and thougts about adding a cool tv outside in that shed would make it perfect "

"We enjoyed our stay quite a bit. Communication with the owners was quick, checkin and check out was seamless. It was nice to have access to a full kitchen and laundry room. We were a bit hot without AC, but that’s just us being nitpicky. We rented a pontoon from B&B marina across the lake, and returned it to the marina at night. We didn’t get much use out of the dock access, mainly because we rented the pontoon and didn’t need to. Overall, We highly recommend this rental!"

"Such a lovely home base for our summer vacation week. Comfy beds and a great view of the woods from the upper/main floor. We were a little worried it might be off the grid and hard to use our GPS, but it’s easy to access in a quiet little neighborhood that had plenty of spaces to walk with our lab. (Dog beds provided was a very nice touch that made him settle in, and there was plenty of space to set up his crate.)We were 20 minutes from a nice state park beach and a half hour from an excellent forest hike. About an hour from the Mackinac Bridge and another hour to Sault Ste Marie for a day of UP adventures. And we enjoyed the kayaks on Emerald and Opal Lakes, as well as some fishing time nearby on Big Lake.Lots of good tools to cook with in the kitchen and a nice gas range, plus a grill and a crockpot that came in handy for quick hot dogs and having a nice dinner ready after our day trips. Then some chillax time in the hot tub and out on the deck.The whole family loved it!"

"The house was exactly what the description stated. We (myself, my son and his family, 2 girls 8 and 4) stayed for 4 night but the girls wanted to stay for "2 weeks" they definitely had a good time. Enjoyed the lake during the day and a campfire every night! Will more than likely try to book again next summer."

"Perfect for a girls weekend. There were 8 of us that came together from all over Michigan, Canada and Ohio to spend a weekend celebrating and floating down the Ausable. Having all the rooms upstairs was like being at camp with a huge living room for us all to come together. It was perfect. The wrap around porch and grill were heavily utilized. I would 100% recommend this property for family and friend gatherings. "

"We had a fantastic time, with so much to do outdoors, our 5 boys had no problem falling asleep completely exhausted at the end of the day. It’s a mix between “Glamping” and “camping” the cabin was super cute. Has a full fridge and microwave, with an outdoor grill. There’s no toilets or running water in the cabin, but the main lodge has showers and toilets and a full kitchen to use, and the cabin is like 50 feet from it. We had a blast and the kids have asked to come back here every year from now on! "

"Susan is an amazing host. The cottage was absolutely perfect for us and our little dogs. Bed was very comfortable, and the party store right across the street is a game changer which also has really good food. 10 minutes from East Tawas was another great perk for food and a cool little downtown feel. There is so much to do but we chose to do a lot of relaxing and this was a great spot at a reasonable cost. We will definitely be back!!!"
